...Have their decorations down?

My tree is now now bare. Im just waiting for DH to lug it outside. All the decorations are down(again, waiting for DH to get the boxes down from the attic). All the clothes the kids got are hung up, and I only have about 10 more toys to find a place for.

Dont get me wrong, I love Christmas and all the decorations, but when its over, I want it done! :)

But Christmas ISN'T OVER YET!!! Not until New Year's Day here! :)
I still enjoy the lights/tree until then, then worry about taking them down AFTER New Year's. I always hate to take them down, the house looks so BARE after!! :(

It's bad luck to take the tree down before New Year's. :)

Besides, if I take the tree down, I have to put all the stuff that is under it away. :)

No way:eek: ! We love to drag it out. The kids can even leave their open presents under the tree for a few more days. They love that! They run out every morning to play with them. It is sad when we have to put it all up and take the tree down.

No, I enjoy watching tv and have the tree with the lights on, I will take it down January 6th!

But Christmas ISN'T OVER YET!!!

To me, Christmas is Dec 25th. Thats over! ;) Im ready to move on to my birthday(28th) and then New Years. No need to have Christmas decorations up for those events. ;) Not to mention I got the tree ASAP, so now its pretty dead, LOL! I think Im just anxious for spring, so I try to get the winter holidays over fast.

The last live tree we had was so dry, we couldn't turn the lights on for the week before Christmas and it turned brown, so we took it down on Christmas day. Why people think you can have a live tree in AZ when it is usually in the upper 60s or lower 70s and the tress dry out on the lots, it is amazing. We finally got a nice artificial prelit tree last year, and this year, I had to get a smaller one. One of my dogs went blind, and we were afreaid that she would run into the large tree, so the smaller one went on a table. She is used to the table being where it is, so no problems! Hooray, because I could never replace all my treasures blown glass ornaments.

I think I will take the tree down on Saturday while DH is working. If I don't, it will be up untill the 4th of Jan. Much too long.

Wow, you are fast!!! I'll probably take ours down this weekend. It's such a pain to package up all those ornaments, I don't look forward to that part at all!!! The house always seems kindof empty after the decorations are down, so I kindof put it off!!

I'm usually like you. Tree is up the day after Thanksgiving, down the day after Christmas. :)

My dd's get upset with me about this, so I decided to wait until New Years day or the day after this year. (and they can help me!!)

I'll take the trees down the weekend after New Year's Day. Although, I've put away the Christmas tablecloth and decorations in the dining room. I'll begin to put things away as I go along over these days. I have to return to school on the 2nd and 3rd.

If I don't take everything off the tree and try to wait for DH to do it, our trees would be up until Valentine's Day! LOL :p

Hey CamColt- I'm with ya sister! My dd and I took our tree down this morning... and took great pleasure in throwing it off the deck! I was tired of sweeping up pine needles!! Now I'm turning my dining room into my living room and vice versa.... just a little day after Christmas project!! Oh and My dh took down our outside decorations yesterday before we got the big storm... easier to do when there isn't a foot of snow!!

Nope, stuff doesn't come down around here until after the 6th at the very least... it has been known to stay up for my birthday in February too at times  :teeth:

I'm with you too! Mine is still up, but I will be dismantling it by the weekend. I just can't stand looking at a Christmas decoration when Christmas is over. I understand the people that like to keep them up, but I'm just not one of them. :D

Yep that's me too!!!!!

By the time I went to bed last night, I had "undecorated" the formal living room, and the dining room. Did the bathrooms today,(yeah, I know...who decorates their bathroom????The same person who takes them down on Xmas) and hopefully tonight I'll get the tree undecorated and out of the family room.
I would have done the tree last night, but the snowstorm slowed down that process.

You have a friend in me......

that tree stays up as long as possible! At least until after New Year's. Took too long to decorate and I want to get the most from it!

I'll take the tree down New Years Day. It's my own little tradition.:D The stockings will probably come down tomorrow. Now I am ready to just kick back and smell my Christmas Cookie Yankee Candles as they are burning and relax. *sigh*
