Anyone else willing to admit that they are addicted

The 20% off your entire purchase coupon for Ulta starts today. I got an email from them and I'm going to guess there's a coupon in the paper... I go to my mom's to read her paper on Sundays, so I don't know for sure.

And I just checked... it's also available on their website.

Happy Shopping!

Another addict checking in :grouphug: I've been a makeup lover since I first got that Merle Norman makeover at 13. My grandmommy took me and bought a full face set. That was it.

I've got what I use daily in a tackle box and then one of those plastic set of drawers for the rest. I also have a box at work and then some stuff in my purse.

I love BE, not the foundation though, but the face colors, blush, eyeshadows and liners, MAC, Sephora, Lancome.

One thing I've found that I absolutely love is Primer Potion by Urban Decay. http://www.urbandecay.com/categories/EyeshadowPrimerPotion.cfm It makes your eyeshadows much darker and last a really long time :thumbsup2

With my BE shadows I have to have UDPP. It lasts all day! As a matter of fact I need to buy some more. Just a tip, if the tube seems like it is getting low, pull out that white ring at the top of the tube and you will be able to swirl around the wand in the tube and get a LOT more out of it.

I have been there a couple of times but I must be missing something because I find it kind of hard to navigate. I wish their board set up was like this one.

Ita, I like the reviews but the boards are not good.

I mentioned my friend who likes to buy expensive make up and then does not use it and gives it to me, well she gave me this Trish MacEvoy planner thing. It had EVERYTHING shadow, lipgloss, blush foundation, brushes, ets, in this little three ring binder with pockets to keep it all. I LOVE IT!!! I keep it in my desk and when I am late I have time for a full face make up before the start of the day. If I am going out after I can touch up everything without having to carry a ton in my purse. I think she got it a while ago at Neiman Marcus. I looked them up on line and they are about 295 BUT well worth it just for the organizer!
ETA I found the planners on the Nordstroms Site but I bet she filled it herself b/c the planner alone is like 52 BUT well worth it if you want to have everything you need in a handy compartmentalized notebook/planner.

Makupalley is nice. I used to be a really active member on there, and did a few swaps too. They are very cliquey though. It took me awhile to get 'in' with them - and once I tapered off? Forget about it.... They ignore my posts now. :rotfl:

Thier message board is different, but it's almost more like a chat room. It moves really really quick. That might be what youre not used to. If you reply to something from even an hour earlier - they wont see it.... you justhave to keep refreshing page one.

I do love their reviews - I use it a lot. But I will say - theyre not salon hair product people which FLOOOOOORS me. Floors me. Theyre using $30 lipgloss, but think Pantene and Garnier Fructis is good stuff. Heck, they color their own hair. Being a stylist, this horrifies me. Drug Store color???? :headache:  :headache: :scared:

So, the reviews on anything salon are 'ehhhhh. They never think anything is good. So then youve got a whole world of cosmetic options via salon brands (Tigi, Sebastian, Graham Webb) and they know nothing about any of them.

And as I mentioned, TiGi shadow is freaking to DIE for. Just amazing stuff.

I just bought the eyeshadow primer from Urban Decay on Friday. I had wanted the Make Up Forever one but the make up artist told me she liked this one better. It was less expensive too. I have used it once but so far it worked really well. The test will come when it is really hot. I love the container too! I never look at Urban Decay because the name is a turn off. I must be getting old.
LOL, yes, I can see how the name could turn you off but they have great stuff! I also have some eye shadows that last FOREVER! (even longer with the primer:thumbsup2 )

Thanks for the tip! :goodvibes I wish I knew this before, I just bought a new bottle and I'm sure I could've gotten more out of my old one.:headache: Oh well!!

:guilty: I color my own hair.

I feel like I know what I'm doing.:rolleyes1 After all I was a nail tech.:rotfl:
I got to sit on on a hair coloring class when I was in school due to our instructor being absent. My DH's cousin's wife is a hair pro - and she got me into Schwarzkopf color.

I know what you mean, though. I used to have a hard time convincing family & friends that the acrylics they had done at the chop shops where so damaging to their nails. After I would soak off the acrylics done by them, the ridges in their nails from drill abuse was horrifying. Then along came gels and I think they are much better. But I am still an advocate for natural nails. With products like Nailtique #2, you can grow them easily.

I also believe in pro hair products. I love Sebastian hairspray.

Tell me about this eyeshadow primer you guys are raving about, please!!

I had to rush home and report.....

Sephora has a "Ready for the Red Carpet" set of Too Faced items right now.

A full size tubing mascara.
A full size Mood Lipgloss (which is stunning and wonderful!)
A full size eye shadow called toasty - a champagne and shimmery warm brown.
And a mini eye shadow primer.

Are you ready for this price???? $29.50!!! :woohoo:

I own one now. :snooty: :dance3:

I to have a love of makeup, but also being a germ freak don't share:snooty: my friends aren't too impressed with that. I live in a dorm, and watch my makeup case like a hawk I  my step mommy, she has two boys and always wanted a daughter so she has bought me lots of fun stuff! She found me some really cute colors from.. Agnis B? I think its called!

I will be honest, I am a teacher but as far as I am concerned, if you were in my class I would excuse you on the opening day! I mean school lasts 180 days a year ...Nordstrom's opening only occurs once in what once in 1OO years? All I would ask is that you write a personal essay describing your day. Then everyone would be happy! If you do go you need to be there at an hour before they open. They typically open on a week day but run the "grand opening" for the week end . However the free stuff is NOT the same.

Out of curiosity, I just checked Nordstrom's website and under "Store Locations" it mentioned that Ross Park Nordstorm's grand opening is October 24th! :woohoo: I'll have to head out that way after my lecture is over at 11:30. I marked it on my calendar so I don't forget. I was so hoping for it to open on a Wednesday, that's my day off.

So if there are any Pittsburgh make up addicts out there, go check it out! Just don't take all the goodies before I get there around 12:30. princess:

Nailtique always turned my nails yellow. I love Nail Envy by OPI I can say that of all the ones I have tried this one is the best.

AT Ulta be sure you ask for the Bare Minerals sample. It is a small Bare Minerals and a tiny buki brush. Great for pocket book or desk.

Did anyone go yesterday? I got the Amazing Conceler for 33.oo. I need to work with it b/c you have to have a moisturizer under it or it really does not look well. I used it today with the moisturizer and it lasted all day. No caking no melting in the creases. IT must be put on with a brush! NO fingers. This is the first time I have ever had to practice applying a conceler.

YOU HAVE to let us know what you get. I must admit that I am thinking of taking a personal day when the one opens near me. I will schedule my Dr. Appt in the afternoon and then not feel guilty. I am sure my blood pressure will be like 1000 when I go if I have gotten as much as my friends daughter got. AHHHHHHHHHHHH free make-up what can be better?

Has anyone ordered anything from Too Faced lately? I just ordered some mascara and lipstick yesterday, and I have not received an e-mail confirmation yet.

By the way, I love make-up too. My two favorites things are mascara and lipstick. I don't think I have ever finished a tube of lip stick. My favorite mascara right now is L'oreal Lash Out. I am looking forward to trying the mascara from Too Faced.

Well, I am just back from Ulta (got the 20% coupon email) and am now the proud owner of a Too Faced mascara. I got "hot chocolate" because I think that black is too harsh with my blond hair.

There were no "Snow Bunny" bronzers left :guilty:

Oh, and do you guys get free samples at ULTA? I never have, not once. Do you have to ask for them? Do you have to spend a certain amount? I always forget to say something when I am checking out.

I came home and put the mascara on. It doesn't feel any different from my other mascaras. I like it so far! I hope it stays on nice. I looked at some Too Faced eye shadows too, but didn't buy. I had to physically restrain myself from buying yet another bottle of OPI. Every color I want looks an awful lot like a color I already have.

I lived near Portland a couple years ago, and Nordstorm was the one place I missed the most when I came back. I'm so excited, I can't wait for it to open! I just wish it was on the west side of the "Burgh" than in Ross Park. Not that I can afford much there now (I wasn't divorced when I lived in OR, now I'm a poor college student/single mom). But for certain things it's worth the extra money for the proffesional bra fittings and free alterations (on stuff not on sale) and David Kahn jeans! :goodvibes

I went to Ulta last night after work... figured I deserved it :) I went to get that nail polish we were talking about (the OPI "parlez-vous OPI") and had it in my hand but then I saw a cute little sample set from the new "french" line called "Cafe Cuties". I got four little mini bottles (a top coat and three pretty purple colors including the one I originally wanted.)

Yay!

Thanks to Cathryn Rose we found our make up thread! Yeah!!

ETA: So back to the important stuff CR where did you get the Too Faced Kit was it at Sephora or ULTA?

:cool2: Bath and body junkie right here...not too much into makeup (yet) but am thinking about trying the Bare Essentials stuff. I consider myself to be very low-maintenance but I'm thinking this purchase would be worth it.

Right now I'm salivating at Sephora online, thinking of many ways to give them my money...
