Anyone else uncomfortable around the non-speaking characters?

Anyone else feel this way during a character meet and greet or am I just weird? :confused3

I am a shy person in general, but I don't like when a non-speaking character interacts with me. I feel really uncomfortable (borderline creepy) and silly giving them hugs, posing with pictures, & when they try and "talk" to me. But, on the flipside, I don't mind meeting the speaking characters (i.e. Jack Sparrow, Wicked Stepsisters, etc...) & I actually enjoy them.

I still always attend the CP breakfast & LTT dinner character meals because we love the food and theming (I am a huge Winnie the Pooh fan and we are from Massachusetts, which covers the theming of both places!!), but I dread when the characters come to our table. My DF usually does enough interacting with them for the both of us, so it's fine.

I just wondered if anyone else feels this way? :confused3

I sort of feel that way. I feel shy around characters in general. Whether they are face characters or not. I love the pictures that I get so I force myself to go up to them. I always feel like I'm bothering them even though I know that they are there to interact with people.

Haha. It's kind of like celebrities. I am uncomfortable going up to talk to celebrities because I feel like I am bothering them and that they just deal with it all the time and must be sick of it. Characters are the celebrities of the Disney parks so I end up feeling awkward. I just have to keep reminding myself that they are there for guest interaction.

I love the photos too! I think that's also why I opt for the meals. I would never wait in line for a meet & greet in the parks. I would feel too silly.:confused3
