Anyone else take night flights home?

We used to take a mid afternoon flight home. But for this trip we are taking an evening flight. Our flight takes off at 7:05pm. So we get almost a full day in the park!

We wont leave Disney until about 5:00pm. So an extra day for us. :cool1:

Me too:
I leave Milwaukee at 7:35 am get to Orlando 11:05 am

Leave Orlando at 7:35 pm and get to Milwaukee at 9:10 pm. We come home on a Friday so I have 2 days before I go back to work. Which should be enough time to book another.

always take the 1st flight down..and the last one back! I try not to work the next day though, we get in really late.. ::MinnieMo :flower:

Definitely! We will be flying out of Orlando at 16:10 (wish it was even later) and all going well shoud arrive at our house at about 12 noon the next day (well we do live in the south of Ireland :) Hope we sleep on the plane, unfortunately we have to stop in Shannon (west Ireland) on the way back (so near and yet so far), then fly onto Dublin and drive home about 2 hours. It will be so worth it though.

:shamrock: On the flight into Orlando we will be leaving our home about about 6:00 and get arrive at our hotel approx 20:00 I'm guessing. If only Star Trek transporters really existed :teleport: :teleport:

We didn't, but I wanted to. We did fly in at night thought, landed at MCO around 1 am (plane was a hour or so late) and spent the night at an airport hotel, checked in to our resort early, then spent an extra night and flew home on an 8 am or so flight.

We always take the 1st flight out and last in on our trips. That normally means us being up since 3:30 am or so on the 1st day thought (we are always in our room by 12:00 noon so that is good. :cool1: )

This next trip it was cheaper to take the 11:00 am flight so we are taking that. We will get to our room a little later, but hopfully won't be so tried. Chances are I will be so excited to leave I will be up since 3:00 anyway! :goodvibes

Whenver possible
. . . we take the earliest flight on arrival day
. . . we take the latest flight on departure day

We started doing this two years ago and absolutely love it.

We are taking a night flight at the end of the month. We are doing it to stretch a quick WDW vacation. I think that DD and I will be tired when we get up the next morning for school/work but it will be worth it.

This is the reasoning we had when we went last october. Its not worth it. All you do is wait to go home. The extra time is not that enjoyable. Plus you don't use all of that time because it still takes time to pack check out and get to the airport. Also, depending how far away you live, you may be home very late.

For sure...it's the only way to get every last Disney drop possible! We arrive around 9 am and depart around 8 pm. 91 days and counting!

We are also doing a late flight out: 5:55 pm. If we leave from New Orleans a wee bit later flight is best for these two old folks. So we'll leave home at 8:00 am instead of 5:30 am or so :scared1: We did this one trip and could not get in our room until 4:00 pm and we were too tired to much!
I think I'll like the late flight. We'll have a rental car so we'll be able to do any last minute things we want. Or things we want to "do over!!"

Yep. When we take the kids for longer visits at WDW, we drive. However, when we want a long weekend away, dh and I fly. We can be in Orlando around 9 am on a Friday or Saturday and leave around 8:30 pm on a Monday or Tuesday. It's wonderful. Usually, the flight going is completely booked, but the return flight is fairly empty.

Yep we do that whenever we travel. We leave as early as we can on the first day and leave as last as possible on the last. We have taken many redeye flights!!

We are going home on a late flight this year. We are also using Magical Express so after we check out, we won't see our luggage again until we get back to our airport. We will, of course, keep one travel bag with us with bathing suits, etc. but I plan on getting every last minute this trip!

Always!

Best thing is with the new MYW tickets it's MUCH cheaper to do so (although at the moment I have an AP for myself).

The big question used to be what do I do on my first/last days at the parks because admission was so high per-day it wasn't worth it to pay for partial days. Depending on the length of your stay, it might be worth it to add extra days even if you only see fireworks on your first night or get to revisit a favorite attraction in the A.M. before your flight leaves.

That actually was my biggest benefit to buying a AP before MYW tickets were introduced - I never felt pressure to get the most out of my day (to pack in as much as possible no matter what) and loved going for a few hours on first/last day.

With MYW, many more people can enjoy the same wonderful feeling!

We tried the late flight home last year and won't do it again until DS is a lot older. We didn't get home until after midnight and it just made for a VERY long traveling day for all of us. We are morning people and don't mind those 5:30 a.m. flights down, but that late night flight home with a plane change was a killer! princess: pirate: :earboy2:

Cookie Princess - I agree with you. We would not have been able to do the late flight when our kids were smaller. However, now that they are older, we can take advantage of that...especially because they'll have time to adjust before returning to school.
