Patellofemoral pain syndrome?? I have it, mostly in my right knee, but in my left too. Last night we had to RUN through the Chicago airport to catch a flight..and I was wearing flip flops. My knee is killing me today. I don't run and inclines usually bother me pretty bad too.

Anyone else???

THANK YOU!!! Its nice to know im not the only one. I have it in my left knee. I cant seem to figure out how to help the pain. I have tried building up strength but then I cant do much for days. My doctor just keeps telling me every time that I just need to do strength training.

it does get better with specific strengthening exercises. have you tried physical therapy?

(i agree though....runners knee is a very painful condition)

I wonder if this is something my DD11 could have. She hurt her knee 2 yrs ago and fell on it two weeks ago, bruised it to the bone and she can still hardly walk. She returns to the doctor this week (2 weeks earlier than he wanted) but she won't play, or do anything. She now toe walks on that leg and won't move it in either direction (other than the slight bend she keeps in it). It's just not normal for a kid to give up play because they hurt so the doctor will have to do something to help her. He must think we are crazy because she did this the day before her last visit for a broken elbow (can't fake that one) and she damaged the growth plate in her foot last year.:confused3

I have tried to but it's so hard because everything tends to make my knee hurt...I guess I just have to get past the pain and it will get better?

My knee problems started when I was 16 and in a car accident. I had problems for years. One time we went for a "hike" (I use that term loosely...more like a walk) in the woods for about 2 hours. When I came out I had sprained my ankle and all the muscles up to me knee. I took the Dr's years to figure out what I had. I went to an Ortho that looked at me, moved some things around and told me what I had. Sometimes it's so bad it feels like I sprained it, other times, like this week, it's just sore and will go away on it's own. Maybe ask her doctor about it?

My doctor and pt said that's what I had too, but after no improvement, I finally got a referral to a specialist and found out I had osteo-arthritis. Just keep that in mind if you are not improving. I hope you feel better soon.
