I'm not sure I even like the idea of them calling it "July black friday" Wait until at least October to start shoving the Holidays in my face. :santa::santa:

Why bother having a one day sale for Black Friday. I notice one of the lt networks are showing Christmas movies already. :sad2:

Haven't yet, but I will be on the look out.

Dd was overseas for a year at school, we JUST did Christmas 2013 for her last month!

I am guessing that was Hallmark. They do that every July, kind of a kick-off for their 2014 ornament collection! I will watch a sappy Christmas movie any time of the year!,

Haven't seen any sales, but the Salvation Army has kettles and bell ringers at all of the stores here looking for Christmas in July donations. Wondering if this is going to continue after July. :goodvibes

It's on in the UK, but, the crafting channel Create and Craft have been doing Christmas stuff since May, their excuse is that people need to start early when Christmas crafting. Wait until Halloween is over, to see Halloween stuff and Christmas stuff side by side is almost as bad as seeing Christmas and Easter stuff side by side (yes, Tesco, I'm talking about you!)

Ugh. I absolutely love Christmas, but I'm getting to the point of being overwhelmed by it. I don't like that all of the commercial push is impacting my enjoyment. I keep toying with the idea of saying no to Christmas presents and going with 1-2 gifts per.

God, I hope not. It's bad enough in December. :headache:

I've seen Christmas in July sales advertised at Best Buy and Target.

I agree and I hate the few Christmas in July ads I have seen. I'm not participating in any of them. I'm all for a good sale but stop pushing Christmas year round. It ruins the special nature of the Christmas season.

Exactly! :thumbsup2

I love the Hallmark Channel Christmas movies! I also love Christmas music! I am fine with seeing and hearing Christmas in July but I certainly don't have the urge to buy anything.

Although I don't really like retailors picking up on it, Christmas in July has been a "thing" at summer camps, national parks, etc. for many years. When I worked summers at a national park in college, we always had a Christmas themed party on July 25th. We did Halloween too. it was just an entertainment thing.

A one day thing makes sense to me, but turning it into another season is downright silly.

Maybe it's just me but I haven't seen any Xmas stuff or sales, but then I don't go to the mall or many big box stores. Think I have only been in Walmart 3 times in the month of July. Don't waste my time looking at ads of stuff I have no plans on buying.

I think it's stupid that they keep pushing us to start Xmas shopping earlier then Black Friday in November.

Oh well just not buying it. Hehe

Ah, Christmas Creep as they call it. Apparently the National Retail Federation did a study that found that 40% of all Americans plan to start their Christmas shopping BEFORE Halloween. And that was back in 2006.

I haven't been to the mall or any big box stores in weeks. It is all ads through email.

Even though I don't look at them, it is hard to miss the CHRISTMAS IN JULY!!!!! BLACK FRIDAY IN JULY!!! in the subject line.
