I have seen this commercial many times the last week or so. It says that you can save $10/ticket by purchasing your ticket at ATA's website(www.ata.com). I called ATA when I didn't see any mention of this offer on the website. I was told that I would see the information when I actually "checked out". I checked to see what the "phone" price for a ticket would be (Indy to Orlando in July). I was quoted $179, but was told the website may be less. I was booking 2 tickets this morning on their website, and after checkout my total was $358 ($179 x 2). I called ATA to ask why I didn't get $10 off each ticket. First I was told that the website price was lower, so it already included the $10 discount. I told the guy sorry, but that wasn't true. Then he told me the website didn't offer a discount. Wrong! That's what not was advertised on their commercial. After being put on hold for the third time, he came back with his "loophole" answer... it's only available on "select" flights! What a run around! I'm going to watching the commercials very closely and see if I can find that little pharase. If not, you can be sure I'll be calling them again.
This is kind of a spur of the moment trip for my son and I. He doesn't know about it yet. He got straight A's all year after much hard work and dedication. Since I'm the "homework drill sargent" (as my husband calls me!), I get the benefit of the trip too! I'm trying to do it as inexpensively as possible, so even $20 off our tickets can help. Thank goodness we have Premium Annual Passes! We've never been in the summer, but somehow I think the water parks will be an almost daily visit!
Has anyone booked a flight online through ATA and received the $10 discount? I'm just curious if it's false advertising or what.
