There are lots of people who use it for specific tasks and it has been in my orbit, some people mostly enjoy it to make cool artwork with fun prompts. Nerd that I am, I'm using it to answer random questions I usually use Google to do. How this improves things is that instead of pulling up articles that I then need to read it drills down & provides the actual information succinctly. The only potential issue, and it could be a giant issue, is that it fails to cite sources. Therefore, there is no way for me to make sure that I trust the same sources openai trusts, also there is no way for me to proofread. If there is an index I don't see it, even little kids who do term papers need to cite sources so this is a big drift in what is customary. So, there is a lot of power left in the hands of a thing where I can't see where it keeps its brain, a quote J.K.Rowling keeps noodling in my head, "Never trust anything that can think for itself if you can't see where it keeps its brain."
Enjoying it though, even if I am not completely sure it is completely unbiased, which I can only do if I can see the sources, this bothers me.
