Did anyone else notice how bad the editing was? (Atleast I think it was the editing...). I noticed 2 things right off the bat that were just ... bad. It totally turned me off and I changed the channel. I thought the show basically sucked...and after ALL the hype!

Example 1
The little girl apparently goes looking for her cat, but nobody knows that... she was in the house. After she gets back, the big guy that was supposed to be watching her says "where'd you find Rosie"? Like he knew she was out looking for the cat..which he didn't.

Exaple 2
The mom is found face down in the swamp, neeked as a jay bird. Her new hubbie comes to her and hugs her. Her distraught son rushes to her, and suddenly, she's wearing a blanket. :confused3

That's where I turned it off. What a dissapointment!

I didn't really notice.

I thought everyone knew the girl was looking for her cat? She was talking to her brother about it....

I didn't catch that then...it seemed so...choppy or something. It just seemed weird. :confused3

Too funny! Oh I caught some "movie mistakes" too and told my husband about them. Like how in the beginning when the girl is shouting for the cat outside and you can see shadows like it's sunny outside. Last time I heard, hurricanes blocked out the sunlight. :confused3

Then when the mother was rescued, the cop did CPR on her right? Well if you've been laying there all night not breathing, CPR ain't gonna save you. But maybe that's part of the alien thing going on.

There was one more but I'm blanking. But yes, I noticed it too!

Oh I did think it was ridiculous that a mother would just leave when her daughter has gone missing in the middle of a hurricane. They must think we are stupid.

Oh YEAH...I forgot about that one...the son yells at his mom to "just leave!" in anger...like she's just going to turn around and go home in the middle of a storm when her daughter is missing...!!! It was so....strange!! Totally out of wack! :confused3

I think the mom is some kind of alien thing now. In the commercials for the show the daughter says "Mom, you smell different" and then the ominous music played. That might've been said in the first episode, but I stopped watching after 20 minutes. I just thought the dialogue was corny. I recorded it, so I may give it a chance, but most likely Invasion won't be appointment tv.

Yeah, didn't notice those things, probably because the program, itself, was so good overall.

I didn't care for the show. there were way too many things wrong with the first show.
ok...what Mom would leave with her child missing.
the divorced story is too forced...we got...they don't get along
we know the Mom/new husband are bad right away
The Dad doesn't seem concerned when the brother shows up with a corpse with weird spikes in it...????
why would they stay in a WOOD house during a hurricane?
why would the Dad be more concerned over plants than his kids
they all know right away Mom is weird
Why is Mom naked...that isn't strange to any of them

ok...these are just a few things I didn't like. I did like the "idea" of the show, but was disappointed.

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either.

DW Lauri thought the sheriff was well-cast, though. His face is really thin, with this creepy look to it that screams "I'm possessed by an alien being bwahahahaha".

Threshold kept my interest and will keep me coming back more than Invasion or Surface.

You are so right on that one. What other movie was he in? He's so familiar looking...

Anyway, I knew as soon as I saw him on the previews he was going to be villain-ish. He just looks the part!

I noticed that about the CPR, too. But, when they showed she had been replaced/possessed, I understood.

Did you ever watch "As the world turns"? He is Lily's bio dad - Josh, who raped his cousin (not by blood but by adoption). He was on and off for maybe 2 yrs.

Also, he has been in tons of movies in minor roles, like the father of one of the main characters in Pearl Harbor, Contact, Perfect Storm.

I didn't think it was a blanket covering the lady but the sheriff's yellow raincoat.

I like the other main character played by Eddie Cibrian (sp?) but he seems too young to have a teenaged kid, imho. I'll probably keep watching this one.

I completely forgot to watch Surface. There are lots of "psychological horror/mystery" shows this season.

I really liked it, I think you might have missed a thing or two, plus, her ex did question at some point why she wasn't wearing clothes, and how come she didn't even have a scratch.

He might not have known that she had been out looking for the cat, but before she dissapeared she had been searching all over for the cat, so he did know the cat was missing.

That's where I turned it off. What a dissapointment!

It was Contact! He was the blind one, right? I love that movie. They need to make that into a weekly drama!

I saw Surface and it was ok. I sortof likened the two to DH and said I'd more likely watch Invasion again over that one. It was an ok show, but the storyline was a little "eh" and the characters aren't that compelling. Oh and they also had a broken home storyline. In that one, the mother leaves the son (about 8 y/o) at the father's house so she can go on a business trip for several days and doesn't even say goodbye to the kid! Gee, they sure aren't promoting family values this season. ;)

The little girl is Rosie, not the cat.

As far as Mariels body, at first she was laying nake in the river. Then they cut to commercial. When they came back, they had turned her body over and put a yellow jacket on her.

The biggest problem I had with the show was a few things:

1) They were letting kids out of school as the hurricane is nearing?? I find that very had to believe.

2) What was the family doing at that shack (well it sure looked like a shack) in the woods? I don't understand why the girl was allowed to just walk off...

3) Why would the dad send Mariel home instead of looking for Rose?? It just makes no sense...hello there is a hurricane and the little girl was missing!

4) Too much happened...too many hints...the police officer making strange looks in the car, the young girl being really chatty about the "truth."

Not sure how they can drag this out for a whole season...

I think I can shed some light on this one. In areas that are hurricane prone, they will cancel school if a hurricane is on its way....much like we have snow days.

Very late reply, but it seemed like they let them out just a few HOURS before it hit?? Often times is a snowstorm is coming they cancel school BEFORE it hits. In this case they didn't seem to cancel school...?

Is anyone still watching the show? I am but I am getting really frustarated with it! Each week they keep expanding the idea that something is up...without ever really GIVING us anything. I'm sick of it.

I mnea we know something is up with the Sheriff....is it necessary to have the Sheriff in awkward situations and making strange glances week after week? It's getting old.
