Anyone else not into home parties?

I feel like a heal, but I just do not like going to jewelry parties, candle parties, etc. I am just not into that stuff. Every other week, at work, someone is inviting "the girls" to these home parties. They always say that you don't have to buy anything, just come and hang out. Well, I did that once, and everyone grilled me about why I wasn't buying anything. I am not knocking those who participate or have the shows themselves, but please do not force the issue and make those who are not interested uncomfortable. I just needed to vent. It just gets to be a little much baskets one week, candles the next, and I am not kidding when I say every other week.

I hate them too and I always decline such invitations!

nope don't like them either. Occasionally, I will go if it is something I need or use, like candles but usually I decline.

I like some of them, like Pampered Chef, Tupperware and Creative Memories. I also am intrigued with the Tastefully Simple but have yet to be invited to a party. But I hate the candle one (I'd rather buy Yankee or Bath and Body) and those baskets are way too pricey for me.

I'm not into them either. I have gone to a few only because a close friend or relative had one. Everyone has there priorties....I would rather save my money for a Disney Trip.

UGH!! Overpriced junk I could get a Walmart! I hate being pressured in to buying things I don't need or want. I once sold Tupperware and also Undercover Wear years ago. I found most people don't enjoy the parties and didn't make much. Once you've run out of friends to hostess for you what do you do? About a year ago I attended one of those "adult toy" parties. I've never been so shocked and embarassed in my life! Your bedroom life is nothing to be ashamed of but please, act like a lady!

I got sucked into a jewelry party once by a fairly new co-worker. Ugh. Never again.

I go if it's a close family or friend and buy one lower priced item that I might use. Hate them. The only ok one was pampered chef.

I hate them. I use to buy something just to be nice, but now that things have become so expensive I have even stopped that. The ladies in my church love these things and will have some kind of party going on everyweek.

I refuse to have them but sometimes I enjoy going just for a night out if it's a group of my friends. I like the Stampin' Up! parties my neighbor has since it's usually a small crowd (5 last time) and we have fun and learn new things. I also like the Pampered Chef ones since you get to eat! :)

lol....I used to sell the candles, but did it mostly for the free candles I got. They do make the best burning candle (although yankee's smell better). Now, I have been to two tastefully simple parties and had a blast. Home parties seem to come along this time of year mostly. I am sure the invites will be coming in the mail within the next month....but I doubt I will have the time or money this fall to attend any.

I don't go to them at all.

If I am forced to go because one of my good friends begs me to go cause it's their party they are hosting, I will go but just for the wine. :drinking1

I rarely go to home parties.

My sister was suckered into have a home party recently. Never again.

She was told she could get points to use toward merchandise depending on how many sales she got. However, she wasn't told until the evening of her party that she wouldn't get these points unless 2 guests agreed to book shows themselves and have them within the following 2 weeks. Only one girl agreed to have her own party. That left my sister in the dust.

Also, guests were told that as of August 1st (this was Aug 5th) there would be a $4 per order handling fee added onto each order. Some people at the home party didn't buy anything after they were told about the handling fee.

Then my sister was told that as of Aug 1st all people who host parties were now required to pick up their orders at the saleslady's house. Then you deliver them yourself. Apparently, the saleslady was starting a home daycare business in the daytime and didn't have time to deliver the overpriced stuff she sold. The saleslady used to bring the items to the home of the person who had the party, but not anymore.

My sister was so mad. Had she known of these policies in advance she would have never booked a show. I can't see that lady being in business much longer with policies like that. She's been selling this stuff for over 10 years now.

My sister ended up getting a small candle and a little square picture frame looking thing with a saying inside it. That's all she got for selling over $350 in items for this lady. I think my sister spent more on food for the guests than she got in free stuff for having a home party. Definately not worth it imho.

So... I'm definately not a home party person.

I don't go to them, nor would I ask anyone to come here for one. I just don't believe in them. I had one friend that really pressured you to come buy Discovery Toys from her. I think it is all overpriced crap.

Stopped going to them several years ago. I have all the Longaberger baskets, tupperware, pampered chef, "toys", etc. that I need, thanks much. :)

VERY expensive and you have to read the what the handling charges are too. One I went to was $4.00.
I hate going to them and decline.
