Anyone else nervous about the PVB east pool construction?

I am not concerned about East Pool Construction. We booked LakeView. We will just walk around the path on the beach to get to the main pool and other areas of the resort. To be honest....I will be on vacation....I would rather look at a few construction walls at Disney than be home working long hours.:)

No one really knows how rooms are assigned. Some will say cash guests have a higher chance of getting their requests approved over DVC owners. Others will say the exact opposite.
I honestly doubt there is any difference at all. Once the list of reservations gets sent to the resort, they get put on one list and start handing out rooms.

We're booked for the end of September in a standard studio. I fully anticipate some construction inconvenience. My biggest concern was for the feature pool to be open and Trader Sam's. Since both are, I'll be satisfied with whatever location.

The lava pool, hot tub and kiddy area look great. I like how Trader Sam's patio looks out over that area. I will be very upset if I am facing the construction side of the resort. I guess I'll hope for the best! I was considering another resort but there are just too many things I like about Poly to change. So I'm riding this one out!

Would rooms facing the construction really be closed? That seems like an awful lot of rooms to close down at once. Where would they put us if we have a standard view room for September? I would assume a monorail view or any building on the west side would be OK to avoid construction?

Currently the rooms facing the construction are in Tokelau and that longhouse is not open for bookings. What month it will open is unknown to the general DVC members and public. Someone working for DVD probably knows, but none of us do. Since only 40% of the points are declared for the resort it will affect the number rooms being used. If DVC has any sense they will not book members in rooms facing the construction.

However a declaration can be made at any time depending on PVB sales, which have not been exactly brisk IMO, so I would think DVD would wait to open more availability for point reservations. And who knows if they would rent the rooms to cash reservations.

Will inventory only be increased based on the latest house being constructed? I thought inventory release was based on sales?

You are correct that inventory is increased based on sales. However, DVC often spreads reservations throughout the available rooms, so when Tokelau opens some reservations will be placed there.

I have a question, for those who have stayed there during the construction for Tokelau, how much construction noise did you hear? I would think the standard view rooms would have been affected more than the lake view rooms. Would the east pool construction be worse than that noise from Tokelau?
