Anyone else having this problem RE: Disneystore.com

Everytime i try to get onto Disneystore.com i'm redirected to Disneystore.co.uk.

Is anyone else having this problem, i need to get on the site as i need to order some Christmas presents from there.

OMG i just added a few bits to my basket and went through to checkout and as soon as i changed the country to UK it said estimated shipping and handling $54.95

I think i will give it a miss.

sounds like they're doing IP address detection to send you to your local website based upon where you computer is.

You may be able to get around it by using a thing called a web proxy, but I'm not going to go into further details about this on here because these can be used for all manner of naughty things in the wrong hands

Judging by the reported shipping cost from poppie123 though, I'm guessing that even if you could get on there, you'll be met with a crazy shipping cost

I've never really understood why companies do the whole auto-redirect thing - I much prefer the ones that have a "selector" near the top to let you change country as you wish.

This is so annoying. I used the dot com site just last month to send a gift to a friend in the US. I wouldn't want to place an order via a proxy site, so that's not the answer for me.

I agree Claire, i'm not fussed about the shipping price tbh so i still want to order from there.
