Anyone else have a dog who talks??

As I sit at the computer, my 11 year old Dalmatian sits in his recliner next to me. When he wants attention, he will start to talk. Not bark or growl, make other noises as if he is trying to talk. When I talk with to him, he responds with these noises.

I used to have a boxer who said "mama." Very cute.
Now I have one who talks just like Chewbacca. They're so entertaining.

Nope, my puppy has me trained so he doesn't need to talk. He's such a king.

Oh yes!!! We have Samoyeds and they are known for their "AROOOOS". My 9 yr. old Diamond will sing and talk....we often imitate her and she "replies". The 2 yo (Misty) has just started "singing" and the pup(Logan) makes really low grumbly sounds.....that's when he is complaining about something. This breed is known for being almost "human" and having many ways of communicating. Too funny!

My last dog "talked" when I would come home, it sounded like "ROOLLLLLL!"

My cat "talks" when I am making too much noise and she wants to sleep! She lets out an annoyed "meow" and curls up tighter to sleep.

My miniature schnauzer "talks" a bit. I understand her breed is known for this. It kind of sounds like she is grumbling. We always praise her for it, because we wish she'd talk more and bark less to communitcate!

I do sing and the only time she howls is when I'm vocalizing, working on really high notes. Then she throws her head back and tries to sing with me.

Absolutely. He talks just like Chewbacca too. He makes me laugh even at those times when I really don't feel like laughing. He's the best

A minature schnauzner named Barney, every night when Mom (84) puts on her nightie he has to go in to say "goodnight".
It's very funny.

My dogs don't, but one of my cats does. He has the most amazing range of vocalizations! It doesn't sound like any words, but if I make one of his noises at him, he makes it back. After about a year of this, I've determined that though they all sound different, they all mean one thing "GIVE ME FOOD!"

My dog doesn't talk but I have a cat that does. It actually says one of my boys name. The other day one of my other sons friend was over and the cat was calling for Aaron and the friend just stood there amazed. It's real funny to hear. Freaks everyone out the first time they hear it.

I don't have a dog but my cat definately talks. She has an amazing range of noises - and is not afraid to use them to get her way.

My chocolate lab, Hershey, has learned she's more likely to get a treat if she asks nicely, a lot of "roo, roo, roo,". She's a regular Scooby Doo!! We also have two cats. When K.C. (for kitty cat) meows it sounds like she says, "mmm...noooo" which fits her because she's a little grumpy in her old age. When Tinkerbell meows it sounds like she says, "me" because it's alllll about her!!

When Puggles yawns, it sounds like she's saying, "mom."

My sister's dog makes noises as if he's talking with my Mom and my sister. It sounds like he's whining to get his way.

When my dog doesn't like the fact that someone is outside, he sometimes says "no-no-no-no-no!" Too funny!

all three cats "talk"....one girl is meek and rarely talks...but when she does...she's begging for milk. The other girls talks back when I tell her it's time for bed. She doesn't like being disturbed so she'll grunt. The boy cat grumbles whatever it is he wants.

Animals are fascinating!
