Anyone else gonna boycott parts of WDW due to politics?

It would seem to me, considering what we pay for tickets, that boycotting anything at WDW would be akin to 'cutting your nose off to spite your face'.

If I were going to WDW this year, I would see no reason to boycott any of the countries in the World Showcase.

And FYI, French's Mustard is made in Great Britain. I heard that on the radio this week.

Is anyone else getting visuals of Aladdin, Jasmin, and a bunch of mimes being chased through Epcot by a mob of angry lime green wearing disers holding hot dogs?

Pelting them with cans of corn and turkey legs along the way :D

Actually I would think that it would be better to do this instead of actually visiting France. American tourists is where the majority of their money comes from.

Heh, last night I was buying a couple bottles of wine & for the first time I was a little less concerned with the type of wine & more concerned with where the winery was located. I bought an Australian Shiraz & a California Merlot.

I heard the same thing yesterday. Think they'd like a "do-over" on the name?

As for me no more Jerry Lewis movies and Just Say NO to French Kissing.

No. I go to WDW to escape reality, not dwell on it.

Why would you boycott wines made by individuals? That isn't government produced wine. The owner of that winery may think his government is wrong in not supporting the US. That is like terrorists attacking us as individuals for things our government does. I'm not comparing terrorism to boycotting but it is the same type of idea....blame the people for the choices their government makes. I just don't get it.

The individual may, but given that the overwhelming majority in France agree with Chirac's moves, chances are the company does as well. Not to mention that the country earns money off of the sale through taxes.

What does Marcel Marceau have to say about all this???? I haven't heard a peep from him.

NO

We're going this weekend and we're having lunch at Chefs de France. I'll eat my french fries, french toast, becks beer, wine, whatever.
ya know why? Because I'm an American and I'm free to eat wherever and whatever I want.

If someone wants to boycott go ahead it's your right to do so but I just don't see the point of it all. Plus, I know it looks real and all but you're still just in Disney world, not the actual country- ;)

BTW my DH is a USMC Gulf war vet and he feels the same way- all this boycotting is just plain old silly.

No. I'm boycotting boycotts.

bawhahaha...I love it.

No I won't ever, it won't hurt anyone else but ourselves.

Oh GOOD GRIEF!

I think that all threads that have to do with how we are right and everyone who does not agree with us should be boycotted, shipped out of the country, etc. just show that we can be an intolerant country.

If you are only willing to associate with people who agree with you completly I suggest that perhaps you should avoid leaving home, posting on the internet, watching TV, or otherwise associting with the outside world.. There might be people at the grocery who don't agree with you? Have you quizzed all your friends to ensure that they have the "RIGHT" beliefs?

I would imagine that based on demographics a LARGE number of you are Christian. So I seem to recall that man should not judge other men, but leave that to God. So did you get a big promotion, that you would like to tell us about?

I agree Carol! Why does adversity make some Americans so short sighted and small minded? It is like blaming a race for terror. One or two people do NOT represent a whole race!!! The French pavillion at WDW does NOT represent the politics of France! It is a Disney creation!!!

I'd still visit the France, Canada & China pavillions. See the movies, talk to the CM's and maybe even eat in the restaurants. I would not buy any products made in those countries though. And my dad's side of our family came from Canada.

Now, if there was an Austrailian pavilion I'd go buy some Foster's.
