Anyone else gonna boycott parts of WDW due to politics?

You know what I really get out of these threads.

A list of people I don't want to meet.

French culture is boring!!! French people are rude!!!

Based on some of these postings, the French don't have a lock on rudeness (and yes my postings may be included in that statement!)

It disturbs me when people judge an entire nation based upon the actions of the leaders of their government. It reminds me too much of something I hate: racism. I was raised not to make assumptions about a person based upon the color of their skin. I thought that we, as a nation, have learned from mistakes made in history. I'd hoped we had all grown to where we do not assume things about a whole group of people we've never met, based upon what we see on the surface. I overheard two men in the supermarket today who both agreed the US should "bomb the h... out of France and Germany when we are done w/ Iraq". How did we come to this?
:(
Our President says he is going to liberate the Iraqi people, to help them rebuild after Saddam. From this, one can conclude that he is not judging the civilians of Iraq based upon the actions of their political leaders. A good example to follow.

Maybe Sadaam will choose exile, and move to France.

Thanks Blondie!

Like someone said on another thread, I'm boycotting boycotts. :p

And Simba's Mom, that is so true! In order to have a peaceful world, we have to think about the children/young people. They are the future. :D

Great points! I didn't know Universal was owned by a French company. This is hilarious.

Anyway, if Americans want to boycott something, why don't they boycott oil from the Middle East? Stick 'em where it will really hurt!

Iraq is not going to care one whit if you don't buy a bottle of French wine, but see what happens if we don't buy a couple million barrels of their oil?

Let's get with the program folks.

Because as the French are characterized as "Stinky & Rude", the Americans are characterized as "Lazy". It is easy to rename your french fries and keep chugging them down but to give up oil and ride a bike to work off those "freedom fries" is way too much work. Americans are opting for the easier boycott's. ;) Could you even imagine senators not riding in their big fancy gas guzzling SUV's? Ohhh No! It is much easier to eat some more freedom fries and pat yourself on the back.

I'll be there in a few days and plan on stopping, as usual, at the wonderful Boulangerie and saying hello to the CM's.

Nope, I think its a little silly to take it out on a theme park.
