Anyone else going for chess nationals?

I was just wondering if anybody else was going up for chess nationals? We are going for the tournament Dec. 7-10 and then the parks from the 10-17.

I was thinking about going to the tournament but I don't think my heart could take the excitement, and all that crowd noise!

Chess Nationals.....is that for real? Wow, I guess they have just about everything there. We'll actually be in WDW that week but darn, I am planning on this trip to be a stress release...I don't think I could stand the excitement and pace of play.

Do they serve beer? Anything is possible if beer is involved!

My son is playing, and yes I will be drinking when he plays. I think it is the only kid's activity where the parents and coaches are not allowed to watch. You just stand outside and wait for you kid to come out. We did have to work on my son not yelling YES!!! whenever he took a piece. That is not considered good form at a tournament.

Oh, and I like the "YES"....sounds like the kind of spice the game could use.
