Anyone else get the 'summer blahs' as opposed to the 'winter blahs'?

Everyone seems so excited for Spring...no more snow and winter....I HATE Spring. And, on top of that, it has been such a mild winter, I wish it would keep going. I have always loved snow (I can skip the below zero stuff) but there really isn't much of that (or the snow, unfortunately) anymore. I really dread summer coming....the heat, the bees, wasps, bugs around everywhere. YUCK! And it annoys me that every weather/news person on tv just assumes that people like summer. I'd much rather have the cold than the 100 degree humid day, where you still can't do anything outside. Am I the only one that feels like this?

I feel exactly like that. We hardly got any snow this year and I am not happy about it (it's NH it's supposed to snow a lot). I adore snow. I cross country ski but didnt get to at all this year, so I'm bummed about that, and bummed that I didn't get to enjoy what so many others "have to tolerate". I HATE summer. Hate the heat, the humidity, the bugs. And I could definitely live without spring. My allergies get far worse then, and with a mild winter it starts earlier and lasts longer I am really dreading it.

Where do you live?

I am a perpetually cold Canadian who thinks she was meant to live in a all-year-round warm climate. I have loved this mild winter and I am hoping for some warmer weather very soon! Like tomorrow!

We live at the beach, so I usually enjoy summer, but we also have a lot of tourists that vacation here, so that gets to be a drag after a while. Its not the amount of people that come here, its just that some people have no respect for the ocean and the beaches and the dunes and the creatures that live here. People let their kids run up on the dunes and kick the Piping Plover nests and throw trash on the beach. It just drives me crazy, but in general I like summer.

Since I hate the cold and snow I can't wait for the warm weather...70's and higher for me please! I do dislike parts of spring though...right now every thing is dirty and yucky looking. The grass is brown, trees are bare, everything is a mess, and the yard is wet and muddy. In about a month the grass will green up, trees will bloom and flowers will be popping up and then I will be in a much better mood and smiling again.

I love summer so I don't get the blahs but I don't care for spring much because it is usually muddy, dirty and bare here. I like to see the flowers popping up everywhere though (my tulips are starting to make an appearance, early though-I hope they don't die).

I'm not looking forward to all the heat and humidity. I like Spring while it's so lovely to be outside but once FL summer gets going it's brutal!

I kind of know what you mean. I love snow and cold. I hate heat and humidity. We don't get enough snow here to me me happy. I think I look forward to fall the best. To get me through the summer I think about the flowers, and vacation!

I'm with you on dreading summer coming.

Might have something to do with living in "the Valley of the Sun" though.

The average annual # of days with temps 100 or higher here is 89 days.
Funny thing, they all seem to come in the summer... and they just suck the life right out of me.

Btw, what is this 'snow' thing you all talk about?

I really hate summers, but for a different reason. When I was a kid, from about middle school age to all through high school, I detested summers. There was nothing to do, the days seemed endless and hot, and I was too old for camp. Overall it was very isolating, as I never saw other kids since my friends were only "school" friends, and we were not "friends enough" to plan to see eachother outside of school.

So I remember those long lonely hot days dragging on and on. Even worse, many the kids I went to school with took long fabulous vacations or had vacation homes, and were never around in the summers, anyways, which just made me feel ever more left out. Even today as an adult, I guess the feelings are still there and I hate summers. Fall is my absolute favorite season, by far!!

Oh yea, and summers are awful since it's just too hot and crowded for me to make a trip to Disney World!!

I HATE being hot...and my kids got my genes. I like summer for swim team and being able to throw on shorts and sandals and be on the way...but I'll trade that for cold weather any day.

We really got gypped in the snow dept here in Maryland this year, too.

Oh, I feel your pain. I hate the heat and humidity of the summer. I'm a fall and winter person, but I do like spring too.

I need balance. And since we didn't get a real winter, I propose we don't get a real summer either.

That's exactly how I feel. When I lived in the NE, I loved spring and summer after a cold winter. Now in GA, where the heat and humidity can last what seems like forever, I actually dread the warmer weather. We've already had our air conditioner on.

I get the summer blahs every year. The older I get the harder it is to take the heat and humidity. It is 77 here right now and the humidity is 61%. But we do have cooler weather coming. Only suppose to be in the 60's by the end of the week.

I absolutely loathe winter. Hate the cold and hate the snow. It just makes me want to hibernate. I'm very happy we've had such a mild winter!!!
I can't wait for spring to arrive and especially summer!! Love it, Love it, Love it!
