I am!!! I'm hoping they both fall into a deep sleep soon so I can start assembling and hit the sack early!!!

Nothing to assemble here, both of mine are older and have smaller stuff. Everything is all wrapped and waiting to come out of the attic and go under the tree. DD is in bed now trying to force herself to go to sleep and DS is trying to keep himself awake. I may be up for a very long time. DH gets home from work around 1:30 am so maybe Ill just have him wake me :scared1: and we will put the stuff under the tree together IF DS ever goes to sleep

Luckily nothing that needs assembling here.. Just wish my DGD would fall asleep so I can go to bed.. She's going to have us up at the crack of dawn, so the earlier I can get to sleep, the better I'll like it.. LOL

I sent the "to be assembled" stuff over to DS's house. His kids, he can assemble! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Nothing gets assembled until Christmas morning- all presents are wrapped in a sealed box, santa does not assemble the things, he leaves them for hte parents to do here! Thats whats great about having Christmas day at home with just family, you hang out all day in sweats, put toys together and play!

My DH has been at it for about 2 hours now and he is not happy! He spent about an hour alone on a Parents brand bike for my 2 year old, that thing took forever! He is about to work on the Radio Flyer Spring Horse and his patience is very, very thin right now!

It took us about an hour, DH working on the wagon and I put the play kitchen together. When we wrapped her presents last night we tried to take all the tape off of the boxes and undo the zip ties to make opening tomorrow as painless as possible.

We are done done done!!!! The Thomas was a little hard to put together, I think it was made in China. Other than that we just have twisty tie fingers....the wire cutters helped a lot.

Was it the Walmart Thomas electronic train thing? I couldn't even attempt to tackle that tonight so I just wrapped it in the box!!

Rose Petal Cottage assemebled - check
Mr. Hoopers store assembled - check
Life size Dis princess megabloks (PITA to configure!) assembled - check

Everything else got taken out of the packages and wrapped. Less stress and mess in the morning!! We almost got caught too, DS woke up and fortunately I re-routed him before he came downstairs! Although IF he had come down, my plan was to say santa dropped the stuff off early for us to assemble :lmao:

Yup! We have tons of trains in our house, my son is a huge fan.

AAHH the joy of having older kids. It will be loading up the Ipods with their songs, figuring out their cell phones and hanging out with family all day. No assembly required.

Nothing to put together thank God.

We did Christmas Eve with my dad earlier today and I found out a new hell for parents of younger children.

SCREWS! The toys my nephew got were secured in their boxes with screws. And they were very tiny screws that needed a Phillips head screwdriver. And of course, the one we found wouldn't work. We got my dad a clock and even it was screwed in. What on earth? I had to go to Walgreens and buy a couple of screwdriver sets, hoping I got the right kind so we can go hang his clock tomorrow.

Phinsphan, yes, it is so much easier with big kids! Just wrap and go.

many (many) years ago, before our boys grew up:
we always spent christmas eve at hubby's sister's house. it was at night, since people still had to work during the day. after food and presents, we would end up playing cards, trivial pursuit, etc, while the children played with their new toys or dozed off.
bundled up the boys, drove home, put out cookies and milk for santa, carrots for the reindeer. put the boys to bed. lied down in bed ourselves, just about to doze off, when I SAT UP UPRIGHT! "OMG! STEVE>> SANTA!"
ran down to put the presents under the tree, fill the stockings, etc.
I'm embarrassed to say, santa ALMOST forgot to come that year!:lmao:
yeah, I laugh now, but it would NOT have been funny!

Amen....

In fact we haven't wrapped a thing. They will sleep late so we can wrap in the morning.:lmao:

I HATE TWIST TIES! Spent a good 20 minutes trying to get some plastic thing out of the Our Generation horse's hair....and then there's the stickers that need to be applied to everything (tic tac toss), etc.

Just finished........ugh.

I have a 7 foot double hoop basketball game in my living room now. I was going to put it together in the basement but I want to see their expression when they see it.

Just finished putting the Leopard Gecko setup together. I'm not a fan of reptiles but this little guy is neat! He looks really cool and likes to be held and pet. If he starts talking like Crocidile Dundee, I need to check my meds.

our grown son lives with us and grandson comes every other weekend. almost EVERY toy had SO many twist ties, screws, etc. you could break into fort knox easier than open a toy!!! we "had" Christmas the sat. before, since I worked both christmas eve and christmas day, and that was when said son had custody of grandson. we went to "other son's house" alsmost every toy was SO complicated or had so many pieces, we told jackson "we'll play with that when we get home" he is 3 years old. we put most of the toys in a big plastic bag. after a while, he was so tired of hearing "when we get home" that
we notice this little 3 year old dragging this big bag across the floor, towards the door. "Jackson, where are you going?" "home, to play with my new toys"
:rotfl:
