I just made reservations for 5 nights of buffets/family style (some are character) and we're using the dining plan. We have two DDs who will be 9 and 5 when we go. I chose to do this b/c 1. The variety of food including getting some vegetables in them 2. If we don't like something there are plenty of other items to choose from 3. My experience has been that it takes less time to eat at a buffet and we have only 5 days in the parks
Thurs.-Chef Mickey(CR)
Fri.-LTT(MK)
Sat.-H &V(MGM)
Sun.-Cinderella's Gala Feast (GF)
Mon.-Ohana's(Poly)
Has anyone done this or planned to?

After one of my initial plans for my upcoming trip I found I had almost all buffets. I thought that might be too much so I revised it to include a few regular TS types. I guess buffets are just easier to plan for since almost everyone can find something to eat, you get your food faster, and you now exactly what the cost is up front. But we are gonna try Le Cellier and Chefs de France also.

For our trip next week we are dining at Boma, Crystal Palace, Hollywood & Vine, 'Ohana, and 1900 Park Fare. The only regular TS restaurants are going to be Rose & Crown and Cinderella's Royal Table. Next year we plan to try a few more full service TS places like maybe Kona Cafe, Whipsering Canyon, or maybe 50's Prime Time Cafe.

When we went with my brother and family, 6 of us in all, we did almost all buffets and it worked out really well. Like you said, the kids don't have to "wait and there is a choice for everyone. If they don't like one thing, they can go try something else. They'll usually find enough to eat. Ordering, you get one thing and that's it. We've eaten at all the ones you've chosen and I think you have the "cream of the crop". The only one that was "borderline" for us was LTT, but then many people LOVE it and I think it's worth trying.

I notice that you have Chef Mickey and the "Mickey characters", there's also Crystal Palace at MK instead of LTT, which would offer the "Pooh characters". LTT has Minnie, Goofy and Pluto. Minnie and/or Goofy and Pluto are also at Chef Mickey. I would NOT get rid of Chef Mickey for LTT. No comparison in my book, Chef Mickey is MUCH MUCH better. Again, though, that's must my opinion and a suggestion!!! :goodvibes

But to answer your original question, I think all buffets will be fine and much more relaxing for you and the kids.

I think with the ages of your childern buffets are GREAT! Dh and love them...well before we had DD's..since they are both under 3, it is nice to have food readily available but a pain that we go in "shifts".....much rather have a TS meal for this reason!

But I think your plan sounds great!
