Anyone eat with an imagineer?

SO, I already made my ADR's a month ago for my trip in May.. But, of course I can't leave well enough alone.. I just added Jiko.. and then I saw a signature experience eating with an Imagineer.. My hubby would LOVE this.. He loves creative people and I thought I would throw it in as a surprise.. BAHHHHHHHHHH.. No ressies.. Has anyone done this and does any know if there would be a chance of nabbing a ressie at all????

Remember, you can't use the dining plan for this, and although there is no age limit Disney recommends for age 14 and up. Most little kids get bored with two-and-a half to three hours of adults talking.

I don't know what you saw, but there is a Brown Derby lunch and a dinner at Flying Fish. If you missed out on one of these, you can try the other. They limit to a small number (the lunch has a maximum of 10 guests admitted) so you'd have to wait and see if they get a cancellation.

I looked at both places and they both were not available online so I called and the castmember online couldn't find any times either.. I knew that it was a long time and that we would be there for a couple of hours. I figured it would be a great experience for my husband, so if I had to leave before it was over that would have been fine.. But, it doesn't look as if I will get to do it on this trip anyway..

How old are your children? Honestly, I would not pay for little kids to do this, and you can't do it on the dining plan. Send your husband and take the kids somewhere else if they're little. You might be luckier finding a spot for one.

we did lunch with an Imagineer 2 years ago and are doing it again this summer. My DD11 wants to be an Imagineer and loves to get a chance to speak with them. It really depends on the group you get (usually about 10 ppl) and how interactive they all are.

I say keep trying and hopefully someone will cancel. My husband is a designer and has worked with Disney (they were his client for a trade show) and he loved working with them. On a whim I made a reservation for the lunch at the Brown Derby hoping the Imagineer would be in the design field but knowing he'd love it no matter what. He went to the lunch and was thrilled when a designer was the scheduled Imagineer. He talked about the projects he worked on and how the design process worked at Disney. He answered any and all questions and was just a delight to be with. It ended up being the highlight of any trip we've made in the past ten years. Hopefully someone cancels and you'll get in for this trip. If not, maybe next trip. Its worth every dime.

According to Disney Dining - you cant use DDP for Lunch with an Imagineer. You must pay on CC in advance.
