We have recently decided to go ahead and fly into Tampa instead of Orlando since we saved a good amount on flights and we are able to rent a car for our stay for only $65. We are staying in a Jambo House Value Villa and would like to pick up just a few things to have in the villa. Any Publix or Walmart in that Area? Also, with having a car we are going to forego the ridiculous prices of meals at Disney and go offsite. Any recomendations of restaurants around the AKL area?

Thanks for any help!

There is a Publix at the exit for champions gate. Exit, turn left and it is on your right about 1/4 mile up. Easy in and out and little traffic. About 20 minutes to AKV from there. There is also one closer to AKV on 192. From the resort, go out the entrance, turn right on the first road (Sherbet?). That will take you to 192. Turn right on 192. There is a Publix and a Super Target there (1-2 miles). Personally, Champions Gate is much less crowded both inside and outside of the store.

Definitely the one closest to Sherberth Rd.

Coming from Tampa - Get off the I4 at 429 north (Western Beltway, toll but worth it!). Exit at 192 (Irlo bronson) Turn right off the exit and then immediate LEFT into Publix. I don't know the name of the road it's off of, but you should be able to see it - it backs up to the Western Beltway.

When you come out of publix - turn LEFT onto IRLO Bronson - stay in the left lane - Sherberth road is the 3rd or 4th light. Turn LEFT on Sherberth. It winds around. When you get to the light at the Osceola Pkwy, turn LEFT into AKL.

Thank you all SO MUCH!! I have printed out the directions and will head to Champions Gate area Publix!

Having a car will make everything simpler. If you have a smart phone or computer just look up walmart and there is even an Aldi in kiss. All are with in 15min drive from Disney plus nearly every restaurant is in the area. We eat a lot at Golden Corral. The food is not the best but three can eat for the cost of one at Disney. If you have a gps, bring it so you can easily find everything.

When we lived in Fla we use to come up I75 to I4 and the drive from Tampa to Disney is pretty nice. Once you get onto I4 it is a direct run to Disney. You will know you are there when you start seeing the Mickey head power line polls. :) Have a great time.

another vote for champion's gate public. we have been known to drive there for groceries while staying right in Orlando...so much easier than fighting traffic and crowds.
