Anyone done River Tubing in Jamaica on their own?

We are going on Western Caribbean in 3 weeks and want to go River Tubing. We typically book our own shore excursions and are comfortable doing that. And, I don't think DCL offers an excursion that is river tubing only. First - if anyone has done this which group did you book through? And, it looks like there is a Jungle River Tubing in Falmouth and a White River Tubing in Ocho Rios. Is one better than the other in your opinion? Thanks!

I don't have any advice to offer re: those particular trips. However, I will say that DH and I did our honeymoon in Jamaica. When we went off-property with hotel-sponsored excursions, it was fantastic. When we left our hotel on our own, we had people on bicycles trying to sell us drugs. Personally I would stick to the DCL tours in Jamaica. I, too, usually do not hesitate to book my own tours, but if I was on a DCL cruise to Jamaica I'd stick with the ship's itineraries. It was a great honeymoon and I would not hesitate to go back, but it was a bit eye-opening!

We booked a river tubing excursion through Courtney Taylor Tours last year and felt safe. If I remember correctly you could customize the tour however you liked it. We did river tubing and then a little tour before heading back to the ship. We were on a Norwegian cruise that docked in Ocho Rios.

Yes! I'm having trouble getting anything lined up. We really want to do the White River and DCL doesn't even offer an excursion for that. Working with Courtney Taylor now and trying to line something up.

I would second this. I haven't had first hand experience, but I know that after taking the DCL excursion and driving an hour across the island, I wouldn't feel comfortable outside the port area unless I was with an organized group. There were lots of adults just hanging out along the roads and the looks they gave our bus driving by made me uncomfortable.
