Anyone done Management Training in large retail?

I'm looking for anyone who has done management training for a large retail store. Was the job as good as the hype given by the company? Are you still in the job? Any info would be appreciated.

Please clarify large. Large as in department store or big box retailer, or large as in number of locations?

oops - sorry - many stores - like Penney's, Mervyn's, Target - that type of retail. (not Walmart or Costco)

Can't help you with management in those retailers. However, that said, every manager I have ever known that has worked for Target has had nothing but great things to say about their experience and the company.

my dh has worked in retail mgt. for 20 years, it just depends on the co. and the store you get placed in, the employee's already there.........good luck.
