Can anyone tell me if the bows used are actual compound bows with pulleys or if they are just fiberglass bows with a string? I'm trying to judge if my DS will like it as he already has a compound bow.

Thanks

We watched a class, I believe you have different bows depending on your age and size. You could call the Bike Barn at Fort Wilderness and ask. I don't have the number but you can probably find it on the Camping Board.

My nieces did the archery experience last summer. If your son is an experienced archer, he might find this pretty tame. My oldest niece had some experience with archery at a summer camp and she thought it was boring. They spend a LOT of time on safety. The archers then take turns shooting at a target. The two people leading the session run a pretty tight ship and then should considering these are real bows and arrows. However, the end result is that they spent a lot of time talking to the kids first, and then you stand around and wait your turn. All in all.....they didn't think it was worth a whole afternoon. (Bus, then Boat to the Fort, then Boat back to MK, then bus back to resort).
