We REALLY enjoyed walking around looking at all the awesome displays last year on our Christmas trip. This year's trip we will be there ON Christmas day! :goodvibes Since the parks will be packed we were looking for something different to do. We thought it might be nice to spend the evening enjoying the displays. Are there any sites that do something special on Christmas Day? ( maybe Santa or something like that).

Suggestions for anything to make the day magical would be great! :goodvibes

We did Christmas at The Fort for dinner. It's held at the same place as Mickey's Backyard Barbecue. There was what I would consider traditional Christmas food, the characters were dressed in their Christmas Best, live band, line dancing lessons, etc. The characters visited all the tables and posed for pictures and they also were outside posing prior to being seated. It was alot of fun and it was great to see all of the kids dressed up in the best Christmas clothes. Our youngest was 21 at the time and she said she had a great time. I would do that and then walk around, ride a bike, golf cart to all the loops. That will take all evening and it's worth it. After that, there are the fireworks that you can see from the beach. Christmas Day at Disney is just Magical.

In years past we have booked fishing excursions on Christmas Day. Christmas 2010 we had a get together pot luck dinner with fellow Dissers. Then we looked at all the great decorations at The Fort. :thumbsup2

We aren't actually staying at the fort...haven't talked my family into doing that quite yet. ;) But we just LOVE the atmosphere there and all of the fellow campers we've encountered are soo nice! :goodvibes

I can't seem to find anything listed about the dinner. Is it something that you need reservations for? Sounds like something we would really enjoy! We could always just eat at Trails End as well which we love!

We just walked around to some of the sites last year. But I know we only saw a fraction of them. Would you recommend renting a golf cart instead? Can you do that for just one day?

It's called Christmas at The Fort and I'm not sure when they start taking reservations for that. If you can talk your family into staying at The Fort Christmas, they will say why didn't we do this sooner. That's what mine said anyway. We met alot of people that it's a family tradition to stay there for Christmas. They said it works well because Santa can't deliver as many presents there.

We will be at the Fort for Christmas Day as well and I saw other post about Christmas at the Fort and would love more info about this. Can anyone point me in the direction of maybe other threads about this or links so that I may be able to do some more research about it. We would love to participate in this if it's still offered. Thankyou in advance.:goodvibes

We have not had a chance to go at Christmas yet, but i want to go one year and have a character lunch or dinner and go see the real gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian that you can walk inside of!

We will be there at Christmas too....now I am REALLY excited about Christmas at the Fort!!! Sounds like the perfect Christmas dinner to me!

Christmas At The Fort is a great way to have Christmas dinner. I will see what info I can dig up as far as reservations go. I think it probably falls under the 180 day out to make dining reservations if you are a Disney Resort Guest. Have to call Disney about our trip in September and I will ask a CM. Will let you know what I find out.

We were at the fort this past christmas. We went to the MK first thinking in the morning and between 715 and 830 rode 6 or 7 rides, then slowed down, snacked had a great lunch at crystal plaice. Buy then the park was getting packed and we moved to the indoor items, such as haunted house, bear jamboree and presidents. Come 7 pm we were ready to go.

We also visited other resorts but didn't find the experience to be all that is made of it. The fort by far was the best
