Anyone deathly afraid of heights done parasailing?

I am afraid of heights to the point where I cannot look down one floor at our mall. I did go parasailing at CC. I was afraid while I was up there and then began to settle a bit. Now that I've done it, I know I would enjoy so much more the second time around.

I booked this for my family of four but my daughter is on the fence. If she decides not to do it in the end, could one of our party members go twice instead?

We have parasailing booked on CC next week, problem is, my friend is deathly afraid of heights. We have til Friday to cancel without being charged. She originally said to book it and she'd think about it. I myself am afraid of heights, but I did the parasailing in 2011, and it was amazing. I keep trying to tell her it is different than being on top of a building or the edge of a cliff. It is so serene up there. I am braver than she is. I'm afraid she will back out, never getting that experience.
Have you overcome your fear only to find out how awesome it was? Please give me some stories I can share with her.

Thanks
My friend is quite afraid of heights (not sure she'd say "deathly" afraid, but quite afraid. She knew I'd done parasailing on CC a few times before and asked if I would go with her. She wanted to try it but wanted someone to go with her. She was a little freaked out at first, but ended up loving it and told me she was soooooo glad she 'pushed' herself to do it. She and I also did ziplining in Tortola-that was a bit freaky for her too, but again, once she 'adjusted' she ended up loving it.

It is very different that being on the edge of a cliff (though said by someone who is not afraid of heights). IIRC, you ascend slowly as they let out the rope, so while you do feel you're moving it's not jarring at all. Once you're up it's so peaceful and beautiful.

I do not like heights at all for things like tall building lookouts etc. But I did gather courage and go hot air ballooning a few years a go and loved it. Not sure if I would do it again but so glad I did it once.
