Open today and tomorrow from 11-3 - the Stuido company stores are open to the public. Also on Saturday (today) they are opening the commisary - a very rare event.

We're going up at 11 and then staying for lunch. will we see any of you?

I was going to go today. But alas, something came up :(.

Each segment/location of The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies maintains their own security/ID/access procedures, so DLR CMs these days don't generally get access to the Studios unless its for something special.

I'm anxiously awaiting pictures :D.

Aww - schucks - I would have loved to have met you, since you actually live within a few miles of us. Having the commisary open is something we found out about by accident. I was checking online to see what the dates were for the sutdio store public opening and found an LA Times online article about the commisary.

The store is open tomorrow, too. We may be going to the park, however. Need to get some more holiday magic time in!

Oh bummer....but it's a tad far for me. :) Too bad it's not in 3 more weeks! LOL

Have fun Nancy, I hope you can take some pics!

We'll take photos. We're leaving as soon as we get done cleaning the house (hopefully in 15-20 more minutes). It's only a mile from our house, so we can just pop over quickly.

Maybe we'll see someone. I'll put my LGMH keychain on my purse.

They usually put an add in the Toluca Times or the Burbank Leader. We went last year, so we knew it was an annual thing. We knew it was coming up , so we just did a Google search, last weekend, to get this year's dates.

I just got back and there are some good deals for those of you wanting to come up tomorrow. They have plush 25% off, some items are 40% off, plus they have other deals going. You can also use your AP for a discount. There was a coupon for 10% off in one of the papers. The Team Disney side has apparel at 20% off - including the Vault Disney Disney Couture line items.

Oh - today Dave Smith and Jeff Kurti were doing book signings. I chatted briefly with both of them, but didn't do photos.

Eating at the Commisary was fun. I had a nice cold maple-glazed chicken sandwich and my husband had the Panda Express. The girls had pizza. They had a limited menu, but it was a pleasant lunch and we got to look at the cool historical photos on the walls.

We also took a photo of us and the girls in front of the famous Mickey Ave and Dopey Drive street sign. I'll have to post it up.

Hello yellowmickeyponchos. Is this place the Walt Disney Studio
500 S. Buena Vista St. Burbank, CA. They open a store to the public kinda like the Disney discount store? If so I think my wife and I will go there tomorrow. We are only about 20 mins away.

That's the place!

If you are coming off the 134 East, you will exit Buena Vista and the Studio Gate is on the right, less than 1/2 a block from the off ramp - it has it's own stoplight. The lot of on the right - the CM at the gate will direct you. The shop is in the building complex immediately to the left of the gate.

It was fun - I got a few good items. If you have an AP, don't forget to present it for a discount.

Wow, I never knew this was annual. I wouldn't have been able to go anyways since I was at DLR yesterday and was busy today, but it would've been awesome to go. I was at least fortunate to go to the store & commisary, along w/ the studio buildings when my DDad's cousin worked there.

I had to go back to return something today and it was really empty. They hadn't put the OPEN sign out on the corner as of 11:45 - noon, so there were only 4-5 people including me and my 3 yr old in the whole store. Jeff Kurti was also back signing his books.

We had a lovely time with my daughter, chasing after and watching the ever so fat squirrels that practically own the trees around Mickey and Dopey Avenues. They are simply very well fed with all the oaks and the protective environment of the gated studio setting!!!!
