I am selling a contract through TSS and also buying one. The one I am selling sold on 11/08. I know it passed ROFR a few weeks ago. How long should it be before the deal is complete and I am paid? I also purchased a contract from them on Dec 26 and was notified that it had passed ROFR yesterday ( how come so much faster then the first contract???) Anyway, can anyone give an educated guess as to when I will be able to make a reservation from my newly purchased contract? I am really starting to worry that I won't be able to get a reservation for this summer plus bank the 2007 points:confused:

I know every situation is different but we passed ROFR 12/11/07 and have an anticipated closing date of 01/26/08. We are financing through Benchmark and just received our final loan papers in the mail Thursday with a letter stating funds can be disbursed 01/18/08. If this happens we will be a total of 90 days from offer to close. And six week from ROFR to close - which is what I understand is the norm due to some backup on Disney's part.

Hope this helps!!!

We passed ROFRn the 1/4/08 and are wondering the same thing we were told 3-4 weeks when we got our ROFR passed email.

offer 11/18, contract 11/19, passed ROFR about 1 week later, no estoppel letter from DVC as of 12/15, but then I got email with paperwork 1/7 with closing date of 1/14--I'll let you know on 1/15 if we closed!

Purchase offer 11/3, passed ROFR 11/15, hoping to finally close this week. :worship:

In my case both seller and buyer returned everything promptly, but the major hold up was Disney being backed up with the Estoppal process plus end of year slowdowns.

eeyoresmom - hang in there! If you are worried about banking 2007 points, can you request the current owner do it for you now?

The estoppel report from Disney was the longest delay as they were backed up in Dec. Started mid Oct and closed end of Dec. A month later than expected due to estoppel report being delayed. It will happen. Just don't make your spending plans until you have the cash in hand. Patience.

We recently closed on a resale through TSS.

Our timeline was…Contract on 10-30-07…Passed ROFR on 11-7-07…Scheduled to close on 12-24-07…Actually closed on 12-28-07.

We had the same fears about not being able to make a summer reservation at our home resort. Thankfully everything worked out and we were able to get in just prior to the 7-month mark.

From what we understand, resale through TSS has become at minimum an 8-week process. I believe they have even changed the information on their website to reflect the latest “questimated” timeline.:)

We decided to buy our resale Oct 19. We just closed a week ago. It took forever. The ROF was rather quick. They are not the most organized people in the world. The salers got their papers on Dec 19 by email. Mine never came. It took them until Dec 27 to even tell me that I should have gotten them. If fact they never even told me to look for them. I got a phone call asking when would I have the papers back to them. I got multiple emails from many different people telling me different information during the whole process but they couldn't tell me to look for the closing papers. I was told at one point that we have to return the original papers with all signatures. My son lives in another state so that was going to take a while. Then when all was so behind, they suddenly didn't need the original, just faxed would do. Ofcourse, we had already paid to over night the package to me so that cost a bunch. Then I had to overnight it to them, another expense. I really wasn't happy with any of the process. I happend to find out who the salers were and we talked multiple times. They also were not happy. I am glad I knew them because they may have thought I was the holdup. I really don't think I will buy from TSS again unless they get their act together. I need to call DVC this next week to make sure my new contract is OK. I sure hope all is OK!

I was told by Scot at TSS that Disney has hired another CM to help with the backup, so hopefully this will help speed things along. Good Luck to all we are waiting too for estoppal

It's not TSS handling your closing, but TCS. They've been known to drop the ball at times (at least in my experience), so if you have any questions I would call them and check on things periodically. Some of the process just takes time, though. Hope it works out for you soon!!!

The closing I reported on earlier in this thread is still outstanding. Fortunately for me, the seller is another DVC DIS board member, who contacted me (PM) after seeing the contract reported on the Who's passed ROFR thread. We've shared a few PMs during the process, sharing status and talking a little DVC. It has really helped keep the anxiety levels lower than they might have been otherwise.

In my case there was an unfortunately unavoidable delay on the sellers end, but the majority of the waiting has been Disney's slow estoppal process.

Wish me luck for a closing next week!

The resale average, and we have purchased from three different resellers, is two months. Seasonal periods and mistakes or omissions can add to the time line. We have a contract which should be closed, it's been over two months, but the paper work has been sent back to the seller because the documents were incorrectly notarized. :sad2:

Op here. Sorry i have not responded . Technical difficulties signing on to DIS. I am mailing the notarized documents to TCS today.( Didn't receive them the first time they were sent via email, so another delay) Once TCS receives them, what is the next step? The OKW contract i purchased passed ROFR almost a week ago.I'm guessing I won't be able to make a reservation with those points until at least mid March. The UY is Dec so I should have plenty of time to bank the '07 points, just hoping I can get something for the summer with the '06:rolleyes1

It took me 8 business days before I was in the MS computers with points showing. At day 7 they had my member number, but not my points. I made it for my 10 month booking for food and wine.

our timeline:
purchase agreement/deposit sent - 10/25
passed ROFR - 10/29
got paperwork from TSS - 12/26
closed - 12/31
