Anyone camped at St Joseph Peninsula State Park in Florida?

Is that over there by Port Saint JOE ? Cape SanBlais? If it is I have been there have not been since the Hurricanes. It reminds me of Old Destin its a great place to go and get away for the weekend. We usally go scalaping around August September. It is very relaxing clean place. Hope that helps.

Yes, several times. It is one of our favorite campgrounds. There are actually two campgrounds in the park. One is Shady Pines and it has much more tree cover, but the sites are a bit smaller. The beach is over a boardwalk. The other is Gulf Breeze and it right over the dunes to the beach but the sites have much less tree cover. I personally prefer the Shady Pines area, the sites are more secluded from each other and prettier. I don't mind the short walk to the beach and appreciate the shade, especially in hot months. The sunsets from the park are just beautiful!! Keep in mind that the campgrund is at the very end of the peninsula so the nearest stores to stock up are a bit of a drive away.

After reading your post, I did a search on the internet for that park. We love going to Florida, so I thought we might like this campground. I found some reviews at epinions.com. Sorry, I don't know how to post a link. It got really good reviews. I thought you might find some good info there.

I've seen those reviews....just wanted to get some first hand info from my fellow DIS campers.

Spoke with someone today who lived 1000 feet from the entrance to the park. He really bragged on the park.

We camped there 11 years ago (11 years and 9 months...since our just turned 11 year old was likely a 'product' of that trip  )

It was one of our favorite trips! It was June and waaaay hot, but fabulous campground. We had our 11 month old with us. First camping trip and first trip to the beach...:thumbsup2
