Ok, I know this is probably a "If you have to ask, you can't afford it." question, but are the princess dresses at World of Disney in DTD signifigantly more expensive than they are at the Disney store? I think they were $40 for halloween. My mom went and looked at then after Halloween, and they wereon sale, but she wasn't happy with the quality, and they only had 2-3, and my daughter is a big 2. 36 inches and 35 lbs.

I have a Disney Visa, so I could save 10%, would it be worth the trip? I was also trying to talk my mom to going there the morning we arrive in Orlando, to get a Pal Mickey. Is it worth saving the 10%?

Do I have to actually pay with my Disney Visa to save the 10%? I never use the card, but it was a rewards card I might use, with no annual fee. I tend to use my AE or Discover because I get better rewards.

The trip is a gift from my mom, and DD will be turning two the week of our trip, but DH's hours have been cut bad at work, and I was hoping for a promotion at work that isn't happening, so I was trying not to spend too much money. If I could get a dress I would use for two years of a decent quality, I might buy it, I was just wondering what the cost was.

Hi not sure if you still have to use the visa for the purchase, I was there last year and only had to show them my visa to prove was a card holder.

We were there a few weeks ago, and we just had to show the Disney Visa to get the percentage off too. :)

As far as I remember, the dresses at WOD are the same as the ones in the resort shops and are about $60-$80 for just the dress. My DD has a Cinderella dress from the GF - it is gorgeous, and it is much nicer than the Disney Store or Disneyshopping.com dresses. The accessories are nicer, too - the shoes, gloves and tiara are all different than at the Disney Store. You will definitely pay a premium, though!

The dresses are definitely around $85 but the quality is much better than any place else. My dd5.5 has gotten one every year for the past 3 years (she is very bright and understood money very young...so she saved up her money and paid for half of each dress the last 2 years). The price has gone up almost $0 in those 3 years but the quality has lasted. She is also small and is able to still play dress up with them. We use them at WDW and then for Halloween and then dress up.

ITA, we were caught up in the *magic*(maybe madness/insanity is a better word :rotfl: ) last year and purchased my then 4 year old her very own $65.00 (I think) Princess Aurora dress and $30.00 pink sequin shoes. :crazy2: They ARE very nice quality, better than anything i've seen at any store (can't speak for the Disney store cause I dont' have one around here) but they are spendy.

I will say that my dd wears it still til this day all of the time. She loves it. I was just reading an excerpt from our trip report last year where I wrote that my dd put the dress and shoes on when we got them and she wore the dress at the MK that day, wore it to dinner, for the trip on the monorail and then went to bed in it and slept in it. Woke up and wore it without taking it off that last day. IMO it was worth the extra $$$. :lovestruc

We too got caught up in the Magic and bought dd3 a Snow White dress at WOD. It was $60. The shoes were $12 I think. Of course, I saw them a week later online for $9. Anywho, this was early August and believe me, this dress still looks fabulous - she wears around 3-4 days a week/half days usually, and wore it for Halloween. We have two Disney Stores near us and this one was nicer than the ones there. It was a lot of money, but dd just adores Snow White and I don't regret it.
