I am booked through a travel agent and I am wishing now that I had booked a Savannah View at AKL instead of the Standard view. The agency said that it's too late to change since the the changes had to be done before June 29th. Has anyone upgraded at check in???

Well, I booked through the disney web site, woodsview at WL. A couple weeks later, we decided on upgrading to a pool view.

I just called the Disney number & the CM helped me upgrade with no problem. The FTP was still running, though, so since it's ended, I'm not sure what rate you'll get.

My advice, just call the disney number. The most they can do is tell you "no". But, I really can't see that happening, they do want to please their guest. I'd try calling. You'll have piece of mind. If you wait, the rooms might be sold out.

I don't remember the #, just look on their site. It on the resorts or reservation page.

good luck!

Your agent is incorrect. You can call WDTC on your own to check availability, but they won't make any changes to your ressie since it was made through an agency. You should get the information you want, then call your agent back and tell them that you've already spoken with WDTC, and that an upgrade is available. It may take speaking with the manager or owner of the agency to get this done (some TAs have pretty big egos). I know we have upgraded several clients since FTP ended, and I personally did one for my SIL on Monday.

Your agent must be thinking of the booking date which was June 29th.

I would very kindly ask her to please call and see if she can make the change for you. Tell her that you are *pretty sure* that the changes can still be made, and that the June 29th date was just the booking date.

If you approach this the right way it will not make it seem as if you think she doesn't know what she's doing--and it will help her to see that she made a mistake.

Good luck--

My ego's not too big, and I have upgraded a few clients who
had booked FTP, one wanted to upgrade their room category to
conceirge, the other just wanted a better view. They are happy to
let us do it as long as the desirable upgrade is availible.

No intended offense, I own a Travel Agency. I've just noticed that some agents (though none that still work for me) have a tendency to get their backs up if a client thinks they know something more about a vacation than the agent.
