Anyone book a Garden Wing King room at Contemporary and not get a king bed?

So, wondering (hoping) if there is a chance that we will be placed in a 2 queen room instead. Three adults booked at Contemporary in a Garden Wing King room, since that is all that was available with the discount and the price was too good to pass up. Has anyone booked this room type and been placed in a 2 queen room? In looking at Touring Plans room map, it seems like there are only like 5 of these rooms in the garden wing, and the hotel appears to be pretty booked up for our dates in the other categories. We will be arriving around 7pm on check in day. What are our chances we will not get a king bed? Do you think they would honor a request at check in for a 2Q room, if available? I mean, we can deal with the king room, but it would be better if we could each get our own bed (one of us is happy to sleep in the daybed).

I'm thinking some people probably WANT a king bed and ask at check-in, and wonder if they would move us into a 2Q room when they see we are 3 adults...

We had a 2Q, but had 4 adults so that probably skewed the 2Q in our favor.

Well they won't let 4 adults book the king room anyway. The max occupancy is 3.
Yes, that’s why I said it was skewed in our favor.
It was an awesome room, a ground floor that opened out to the pool area. It was one of my favorite rooms we’ve ever had.
I sure hope you are able to get the room you want!

Sorry, dumb question on my part.... is Garden Wing-King one of those bookable room categories only available by calling? Or are we talking about the Garden Wing-Deluxe Room you see on Disney's website (which is described as 1K and 1Q sleeper sofa)?

But yeah, I'm with @dansdad, if Garden Wing-King is what you booked, I'd say the chances of getting anything other than that are slim to none.

I don't know, I just called to get a room with the military discount and that is what came up. The guy on the phone said "I have a room in the Garden Wing with a King bed." The price comes out to $422/night, taxes and extra adult fee included, during the first week of May, so I doubt it is any sort of "deluxe room."

I am wondering if they will honor a switch to a 2Q room if I ask at check in. Worth a shot, I guess. Worst they can say is no. I can't do online check-in anyway since I always have to go to the desk to show my military ID.

Cool, thanks. CR (and some other resorts) have a few room categories only bookable by calling. GV King must be one of those ‘hidden’ bookable categories there.

Not sure how it’ll go when checking in, but like you said, no harm in asking.
