Anyone been using the $10 off any $10 purchase at Hallmark coupon?EDIT CLARIFICATION

Not sure how it works, but I printed these out last night and used 4 of them today with no issue at all. I even had the district manager ring me up. I didn't realize invalid coupons were allowed to be posted on the Dis:confused3

I was able to purchase 6 rolls of wrapping paper, a godiva chocolate santa, and 2 ornaments for just under $6.00!

I didnt post this post realizing they were invalid. I originally got them from Krazy Coupon Lady and thought it was legit.

Sorry!

Mine also had my name and I believe email address on it. I wouldn't chance it with a bogus coupon.

I agree. The coupon even says "Coupon fraud is punishable by law".

:scared1:

Not worth the $10 savings to me.

I did however get a $5.00 off anything peel-off coupon in a magazine last week.

my apologies if you thought that was meant snarky, it was not! I actually was defending the link lol!

how is one supposed to know when a coupon is fraudulent or not? I would imagine that the sales clerk would have told me that the coupon was not valid if it was in fact invalid :confused3 Just sayin, if the clerks are taking them, then I can only assume that they are ok.

When DH gets home from work we are heading out to our Hallmark store to give it a try. We need some christmas gifts for his co workers. I'll post what our experience is. :thumbsup

I stopped at 2 Hallmarks during my travel to the mall. I bought candy and the girl scanned the coupon and it worked, the girl didnt even look at it. the second store i bought more candy, but had to buy something else because you have to spend $10 and not under $10. again the coupon scanned and the girl didnt mind taking the coupon.

Well I just got back from my Hallmark. Had to go alone cause DS was not up for going out so DH had to stay home with him. The coupon worked without a problem. I got a Disney Jiminy cricket paper weight cost $9.95. They took the coupon even without me having to spend the full $10, even gave me a box to wrap it up in. I only had to pay 65 cents and my Mom is now done for Christmas. :thumbsup2

They had a lot of nice Disney qoute stuff. I may have to go back and get some of the plaques.

Just because it works and doesn't beep doesn't make it right. It is up to the consumer to ensure that they are legit coupons. These are not legit coupons - they are copies of an original. A copy of a coupon is not valid regardless of whether a cashier takes it or not. The cashier may be punished at a later point for accepting it. This particular coupon must have your name on it. If it doesn't, it is a fake. The original link for the coupon is also dead, so any links still around are not legit.

Typically PDFs and jpegs are fake coupons. There are a few PDFs that are okay, but they are the exception and not the rule. Someone asked how you're supposed to know if it's legit or not. If you don't know, then you don't know, and you can't be faulted for that. But if you do know that a coupon is a fake and use it anyways, please don't be upset when manufacturers and stores offer fewer and fewer coupons.

How do you know that this isn't a legit coupon? I believe it is. I understand that Hallmark was giving out a few different coupons. If they work then they are still valid. If they don't then they expired. Companies know that if they offer an Internet coupon it is for everyone until that coupon expires. They get business from it so it is great for them.

EDIT:

I went to Hallmark again tonight ( =)...). I asked the lady working if these coupons were legit or fraud as I did not want to get into trouble. She said originally they went out to expecting mothers but someone sent them out to where the public could print them as well. Hallmark asked all the sites to take them down but for those who do have the coupons they will honor them until the 24th. I asked her since my hallmark card has my information and I buy 6 cups in a row with this coupon is she sure I will not get into trouble. She said not but she would double check for me. She asked another lady who was working there and the lady said even though it says one per customer I will be okay as long as it is different transactions and not to worry and for me to go stock up! So with that I DID JUST THAT AGAIN! I just wanted to let everyone know for those who are worried of getting into trouble you will not and Hallmark is honoring them where they are being excepted. I have come across one Hallmark who is not taking the coupon. Enjoy!

Companies offer an internet coupon in a number of different ways, and most of them control how many prints of the coupon are available. A lot of sites (coupons.com, smartsource, redplum, etc) only allow you print 2 of a unique coupon. There was only one link for this coupon. This coupon originally was a controlled print allowing ONLY 2 prints per computer, and all prints had the customer's name on it. It was not a JPEG like the link earlier in this thread. It would be very easy for someone to take the coupon they printed, remove the name, and save it as a file that anyone can access. As I said earlier, many PDFs and JPEGs are more often than not fake coupons because they allow for unlimited prints. Companies control the number of coupons out there for use by limiting the number of prints per computer or per campaign or by the number of coupons in the Sunday paper.

I truly think Hallmark will not do this promotion again because someone thought it would be fun to copy this coupon. And again, just because ONE cashier in ONE Hallmark store said it's okay does not mean that this coupon is good. If Hallmark corporate said it was fine, then I can't do anything about that, and they will deal with the aftermath. I will not use this Hallmark coupon if it does not have my name on it.

ETA: I am not talking about the coupons that were printed from the original link. I am talking about the JPEGs that are being circulated by email and PM. If you print out this coupon and you have 3 on a page, more than likely they are fakes.

The biggest clue for me is if one can email a JPG of the coupon, then it is likely a fraud. Real coupons are going to be either through a coupon service (coupons.com, etc) or direcly on the company website.

I print Michael coupons all the time , because Michael's does not put them in our paper they said sign up for the emails I did and I print that coupon and use it just fine. It does not have my name on it and I always print them for my aunt too. They don't care they want the business they want me to come into there store to use the coupon and they are going to try to sell me something else, and most of the time they do! The manager has even pulled someone elses coupon out of the drawer and let both my aunt and I use it.

In todays economy they want your business, if corporate had a problem with it they would sent out a company wide memo saying they were fraud and not to take them. Just MHO.

Armed with my $5.00 coupon and my newly acquired reward "bucks", I went to my Hallmark shop this afternoon and they didn't have any of the neat stuff you guys are posting about!! :headache: They didn't have the Disney ornament I wanted either. :guilty: I walked out with no purchase.

I am sure it depends on the store.

I have ONE coupon and no more, and I will use that one coupon. I had to enter my name and email to get it to print.

There was a similar situation with a clothing store where I printed out TONS of $15 off $15 or more coupons. The lady behind the counter didn't care if I used 100 of them as long as they were separate transactions. I stocked up on shirts and accessories with those.

I then went to another store and they only let me use one.....

So, I would imagine it just depends on who is working and what they choose to allow you to do.
