We'll be visiting there soon and we've already been to the Childrens Museum once.

What else is there for kids that's kind of quick? I saw an ad for Pink Palace Museum. We won't have a lot of extra time -- maybe enough for 1 thing.

Can you recommend something??

I would recommend the Memphis zoo. It's outstanding! Or if you need something quicker than that and inexpensive take them downtown to the Peabody Hotel. They can watch the ducks come in on parade or see them in the fountain in the lobby. There are also a few neat restaurants you could take them too. One more idea is Mud Island. It is also in downtown Memphis. It has a replica of the Mississippi river that the kids can walk down (w/out really getting too wet) and if I remember correctly they have a playground. Might want to double check on the playground. It does have a fee to enter, but I don't think it's that much.

We were at the Pink Palace in February. It is a quick walk through. They have some taxidermy animal exhibits and a pretty interesting section of life in Memphis over time. They also have a small dinosuar area that my son really enjoyed. The house itself is only partially finished and you only see a small portion. Not worth it if seeing the "palace" is your main objective. But the other stuff was good. We then went to an Imax movie there about the ocean. It was about 3 hours in total.

I live in a Memphis burb. The Memphis Zoo is very nice but right now we are having extreme heat wave. Several days will be 103 with even higher heat indexes this next week. So I would recommend doing inside activities. The Pink Palace is nice as well. They have the IMAX and Plantarium (did I spell that right?). Here's the website: http://www.memphismuseums.org/
There is also a museum at the Peabody Place. http://www.belzmuseum.org/
I can't think of anything else.

We were just there in June. It has a great gift shop! My kids (9 & 6) didn't seem very excited with the museum and asked to leave after about 45 minutes. Keep in mind we were near the end of a 3.5 week trip and they had been in the car about 6 hours when we arrived at the Pink Palace.
