We are driving to Disney next month and thought that Potomac mills might be a good lunchtime stop on our drive down since there is a Costco gas, food choices and a Disney Outlet there and it is right off the highway. If the Disney Outlet worth a stop? What kind of things do they have there? Is it typically heavily discounted? Thanks!

I live 4 miles away and shop there every week. Are you looking for something in particular? I was just there on Tuesday and they seemed to be pretty well stocked. I wouldn't say that things are heavily discounted, unless they are on sale. They had adult pjs on sale last week (spring short set pjs) but the children's were not . They also seemed to have a good variety of princess dresses. Inventory can sometimes change there pretty quickly. It is definitely cheaper than buying at the parks!

No nothing in particular, just don't want it to be priced like the regular Disney store at the mall near me. I also thought it would be a good lunchtime 1/2 way to our overnight stop spot but I don't want to be off the highway for more than an hour or so. Is it unrealistic to think I could get off 95, get gas at Costco, go into the Disney outlet and pick up fast food to eat in the car in an hour on a Saturday at 12:30?

Saturday's are pretty busy there - I generally stay away on the weekends unless I go early. There are plenty of fast food restaurants around. The Disney outlet is closest to the main entrance which is also where the food court is. You should be able to do it in an hour at that time of day.

Thanks I think we'll try to stop here. Wish we could spend hours shopping but alas, must get to Disney!

It's just like a regular store. It is not really that much of an outlet

I say if your driving...just hit the disney outlets in orlando ;) better deals i'm sure!

Definitely not worth the stop just if you're looking for an outlet store -- it's just a regular old Disney store. Nice, but nothing special.

If you want to stop in that area for food, how about IKEA? It's easy in and easy out and has great food.

It's marked as an outlet on both the Potomac Mills site and (less visibly so) on the Disney Store site. I'd agree that it's nothing special, and depending on what day/time you're traveling, traffic can be a huge mess, and parking can be nearly impossible to find. There are some good places to eat in the area, though, although I thought I was the only person who thought of IKEA as a dining destination!

I would avoid stopping in that area. Traffic will be better on a Saturday than any other day, but its still pretty crazy. It's been quite a while since we have been to that outlet, but we have a mills outlet near our home and the prices can vary a lot. We buy all our WDW t-shirts there and they are MUCH cheaper than WDW. Sometimes they have fantastic deals on t-shirts, but not all the time. Our store have a ton of Disney Land stuff that sells for pretty good prices. We are ok wearing that to WDW so we get good deals. I would googles Disney Outlet and see where you might find another one is a less crowded area.
