Anyone been to Legoland yet?

Definitely worth it,we went on Oct.25th and had a blast.I had been before when the park was Cypress Gardens and it was literally a new park.The entrance plaza was really nice,we did the Island in the Sky observation tower first and got a great view of the park and the surrounding area.The miniland is amazing,you can spend an hour or more there seeing all the areas represented.The four coasters are fun for kids or adults,the dragon one has a portion of a dark ride before the coaster goes outside,the Test Track wild mouse was my favorite and is probably the most thrilling.The Coastersaurus was a fun little wood coaster,the Flying school one was my least favorite as I kept bumping my head on the restraints.The wave racers were really unique and a fun ride.The Lost kingdom Adventure is a shooting ride like Buzz Lightyear.There are several other rides mostly for kids like the driving school,the safari trek and the boating school that kids will enjoy.There's also a 3-D theater showing 3 different movies at different times through the day,we only got to see two but both were great.They have a ski show with human sized Lego characters and even kept part of the old gardens area for people to enjoy.I enjoyed the park much more than I expected.

We were also there on the 25th like DOOM1001. Not much else to add except I dont know if I would have enjoyed it as much if I paid full price for 4 tickets. We got the BOGO free so essentially it was 1/2 off. The kids had a blast and Im sure they will ask to go back next year when we are there.

Thanks everyone! We have seen pictures (our newspaper even had a write up on Sunday) but I like to hear the perspective of families who have been there DS6 is SO excited about possibly going.

I want to go, just need to convince the lady to bring her sons along. I'm a huge Legos fanboy, but it would look kinda weird for me to just wander around there solo. I think the Lego Store in DTD is a real treat, so I just may overload from an entire theme park.

We just went on Saturday. Our biggest complaint is that we're spoiled by Disney fastpasses. Legoland has a front-of-the-line pass that you have to buy, but for all of us, it was cost prohibitive. We also used the Pepsi deal, and basically got in for half price. The lines were a big drag. We got there at opening, headed straight for the farthest part, and worked our way forward from there. I think that was a good strategy. Crowds didn't bother us till after lunch. My DS's 4 and 7 liked it a lot. There was a ton for my 38 inch DS 4 to do!!!

Boy, I have a completely different take. My kids are 38" and 41", they are 2.5 and 5 years old. We had a good time at the park but it is not a park that one adult can take 2 small kids to. Most rides required kids under 48 inches had to ride with an adult and in all cases there was only room for 2 in each car, so that left me with one kid that couldn't ride unless I found an additional adult, which I managed to do a few times.

Imagine walking up to a complete stranger that appeared to have one kid and 2 parents and asking if the "extra" parent would please ride with your kid. For a park, that is marketed for younger kids, I expected things to be easier than they were. Once a ride operator rode with my extra kid. There are no infants allowed on any of the rides and there were several with age requirements, my 2 year old met the hight but not age several times.

My kids had a good time. They spent about an hour in the ball room. They loved the lazer shooting ride. We didn't have the issue with lines because it wasn't too busy, but I can see how it could be a huge problem. The rides load sooo slow. This is a nice park on a good weather day but I would think it would be hot on a warm day and there were not many places to get out of the rain.

The competition in the area is stiff and I'm not sure that Legoland will get more of our vacation money just because for the same price you can get, what for us, feels like more at some of the other area parks.

Can you explain more about the front of the line pass? How much was it? Do you get to go to the front of every line whenever you want or just once per attaction?
I couldn't find any information on their web site.

I hate the idea of paying for it, but.... We've been to Legoland CA twice and on each trip spent 2 days to do everything, at a relaxing pace. In January we are going to FL and plan to go to Legoland. Given we probably will not be there at the park opening and they close pretty early, it may be better to get this rather than have to come back a 2nd day (and miss one of the WDW parks)
Hopefully mid-week in January will not be crowded and we can do everything.

If you have children under 10, it is a great place to go if you like legos. Note that all the rides are smaller and catered for the 10 and under. Less leg room.

We went a couple of weeks ago and liked it but my boys are too old and too big to fit in the rides. Cypress Gardens was good. It is a lot smaller than I remembered. I went in the early 80's when I was a lot younger.

I regret not taking the kids to Legoland in California when they were younger. It is really pricey for 1 day unless you get a special.

I called Legoland Florida just a moment ago, and I was told the pass costs $75 per adult and $65 per child in addition to admission. I find it hard to believe any one would pay that price if it is true. She named off exactly what is was called, but that is the same price of admission! Maybe someone else can call and ask, we will wait in the regular line. No way I would pay that price.

We were there yesterday and wouldn't have needed a pass. The longest line was 15 minutes. I'd pick a week day when school is in session is possible and then we also went to the back of the park and then worked our way forward.

We're also thinking of this before our cruise in Feb. Our flight lands at MCO before 9 AM, leaving us a whole day to kill. While Cocoa Beach has an appeal, we've been there before, and if it's cold, not where I want to be.

DS turns 7 on the cruise and is a Lego Fanatic.
