My sister and I are taking my nieces to Kennywood tomorrow and in checking the website, it shows they have a new attraction ...

Lord Kenneth Ghostwood & his Estate

The challenge for Kennywood guests is this: Ally with Lord Ghostwood to eliminate the unwanted spirits. He'll provide the buggy (with seating for four) and a blaster for each guest. In a competition of sorts, guests will blast away at the ghosts and spirits, eliminating as many as possible.

Just one more detail: there are no tracks for the vehicles. Nor are there steering wheels. They will be guided entirely by Lord Ghostwood's spirit.
Do we trust him? Time will tell.

It sounds cool, like a cross between Haunted Mansion and Toy Story Mania. I was wondering if anyone has done it and if it's scary?

I grew up in the Pittsburgh area, and went to Kennywood many times as a kid. I haven't been there in years, and this ride sounds very, very cool. Please give us a report when you get back. I really need to take our girls to Kennywood.

I went to Kennywood in June for my kid's school picnic. I rode it with DH and ds(8). Get in line early. We waited about 40 min. We had no idea how long the wait would be because no one was around to ask at that time. The line is covered with fans and a few flat screen tv's. Like the ones in the Garfield's revenge line. BTW, the same company made this ride too.

First you go into a room, think Haunted Mansion, and they have a little pre-show where they tell you how to operate you guns. Then you walk up the stairs to the loading area. Four people can ride in one car. The ride takes you through haunted rooms, in order to make things move, or to scare you, first you have to hit the targets, which are small discs...approx. size of a small dinner plate.

The targets are hard to hit. My son's gun wasn't working, so he didn't like the ride. If you don't hit anything it does take away from the ride because nothing moves. You do get a score. It was ok, I'd ride it again, but not wait 40 min. for it. Now I'd just ride it at the beginning of the day. The line did get longer as the day went on. My ds(14) didn't ride it because him and his friends didn't want to wait in line.

I hope that helps.

Thanks so much bvc! That does help! Good to know it's not worth waiting in a long line. I'm hoping it won't be too too busy tomorrow. The weather is supposed to be a bit cooler so hopefully it'll be a good day. :) Kennywood is a nice park, or I hope it still is, I haven't been in a few years.

I have been on the ride a couple times. If you go during the week the line should not be too long. First time I went the line was about 30 minutes, but I was tired and glad to stand in the shade. The second time we went was the Sunday after the Fourth of July and my son made us go on 4 times in a row. It was about a 5 minute wait then. It is definitely hard to hit the targets. My 3 year old doesn't stand a chance.

It reminded me of the shooting game over by the Racers. I don't if you know what I am talking about. Everytime you hit a target something happens. I could see riding the ride several times because you get a different experience everytime.

Have fun. Don't forget to have some Potato Patch fries.

I miss Kennywood so much. We have been to Idlewild a few times over the last few years, but have not been able to make Kennywood, I guess I should wait for a year or two now, to wait till my son is tall enough to ride everything.
