We are going in June and are trying to decide between Pool View and Club Level. We did Club Level last year at RPR and loved the food selection. What foods and snacks do they serve?

Bump!! I would also like to know more about the HRH conceirge level............have only ever stayed conceirge at the Poly before so would be interested in how it compares.
What different room types are on concerige level?
Also, do any of the universal hotels have golf privileges at any local courses or their own course?

last time i stayed club at hrh was oct 05.
did rph last year.

if no one has stayed club recently, i will come back later and list what was available for the guests.

have stayed club level at hrh 7 times now

macraven,

I dont remember what all they had in 2006, but it hasnt changed in the 4 years I have been going and staying club. lol So whatever list you have, it will be the same unless they have changed it up this year.

When we were there in October '06 they concierge was telling us that they were going to put a full bar up there, not sure if they have done that yet.

ok, i'll spill the beans.

breakfast was about 7 am to 10:00 ish
all types of pastries, great selection
individual cereal boxes
whole, 2%, 1% milk
fruit, varied strawberry, kiwi, bananas, grapefruit, berries, melon, grapes, etc
4 types of bread and a toaster
cream cheese varieties for toast. jellies and jams in cute little containors
bagels, croissants
coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soda, water
no beer in the morning.

afternoon: changed daily from cookies, potatoe chips, dips, carrot sticks, pretzels, basically afternoon snacks. not a lot of variety in the afternoon.
when i say afternoon, they put the stuff out around noonish and leave it out to about time for dinner hour. in 05, only one choice was out on the weekdays i was there and 2 different items on the weekends.
no beer in the afternoon.

5-7 dinner time hour: ususally 2 hot choices. could be egg rolls, pizza, chicken, nuggets/wings, mostly finger type of foods. and also cold relish trays that have veggies, dips to go with it. kabobs.......it varied per night and per year i did concierge level.

think it was 7:30 to 9:30 as the dessert hour: cookies always, pastries, ice cream, fruit, cakes, cobblers, i liked this time the best.

i think the best club foods were 2004 and before.
for 2005 i noticed they only put out 2 entrees for dinner hour and the afternoon snack wasn't as special as it was in the past.

water, soda, coffee, tea are available entire time lounge is open.

wait, i forgot the BEER. yes beer and wine is available from 5 to closing time. i have taken "beverages" back to the room with me on occassions.

when i stayed 5-6 nights, i did not see many repeats for dinner/dessert hours.

i was not there in 06 as i wanted to join the 3 way club and say i stayed at all three on site hotels.

going back to hrh this fall.

if there were any changes in the lounge this past year, someone will probably post that here.

i'm sure i forgot somethings they had in the club room. oops.....chocolate

This is a letter that club level guests received in 2003. It is pretty much unchanged - Don't know if cabana price is still the same. Remember that this was printed in 2003 so beer/wine may be served now until closing and if macraven says it I believe it.

thanks for posting that.

i was off on breakfast, but a few days it opened at 7:25.

and i was off on the sweet hour.
so if anyone is looking at my time frame, read the letter that was posted above for time periods.

the 5 to 7 period was referred to dinner hour by the staff when i went.
it had light finger foods and beer/wine/soda/etc.

in 2005, the discount for cabanas made the day price $100
on another thread in the forums, someone posted the cabana cost they were quoted. boy did it escalate!

We stayed club level in October 06. We have stayed there several times over the years. In October they offered the standard breakfast but I felt the lounge was a bit crowded. I prefer RPC for club level because the lounge is so much bigger.

Evening offerings were varied but when we were there they offered VERY spicy mexican appetizers (two choices) which I could not eat. My teens loved it. They had crackers and cheese and veggies also, except the five year old child in front of me put her hands all over the cheese and crackers so it ruined it for me. I am a germ a phobe. Her parents laughed at her and thought it was cute when she licked the soft spreadable cheese dip with her fingers and then went back for more. These were the same parent who sat at a large table and drank the free spirits for the entire time they were offered. I almost called child protection services....sorry I am off subject;)

One great thing about club is the ability to book a cabana at a signifigant discount. The club room and hotel rooms are all refurbished and very nice. You will love the HRH.

melanie i would go with the club level room alot of the pool view rooms imho are blocked by all the palm trees now only a peek of pool plus music outside could be distraction with little ones sleeping have fun and enjoy extra perks of club level:drinking1 :thumbsup2

i would have screamed if i saw that.....i would be afraid to eat anything there once a 5 year old kid had their hands over everything.

only issue we ever had was parents that had the kids come to the lounge in their pjs but that's another thread...sorry

OMG - YUCKS!!! We are club junkies so i would always take that over the pool view. Even if you don't eat anything (after that last post) the beverages (which are totally sealed) are worth their weight in gold. They are available all day too! Not to mention the discount on the cabanas!
