I was there about 10 days ago. It's only 8 miles from my house.
The park continues to be a work in progress. They are constantly adding new things and when I went the last time, they had opened several new animal areas.
The rides are fun (be sure to ride the wooden coaster!) and there is really something for everyone. For the faint of heart you've got a merry go round, ferriswheel and bumper cars. If you are brave there are several steel coasters and one of those things that send you up over 100 feet and then drop you. I did that once. Never again!!
The gardens are beautiful and the walkways by the lake are a must see for all the bird life.
Bring your walking shoes and try and go on a day when it's not too hot. It's a BIG place.
Admission includes the new water park. It's not completely done yet but, from what I understand, there are a few slides open and a lazy river. I hope to get down there to try it out in the next few weeks.
Here's some photos I took when I was there earlier this year.
Wow, thanks for posting the pictures. They are beautiful.
Do you know if the water park will be open during the last two weeks of December or is it just seasonal?
Thanks
Suzy
