Anyone been to Biergarten lately?

Just wondering how things are there, since the tragic loss of one of the band members there...I can't imagine the band going on with shows again so soon, but wondering how Disney is handling this since people booked there are expecting a show..do they have a back up band? Or just no show for the time being? What a horrible thing to happen, it must be difficult for everyone and a tough call for Disney too. Has anyone been there since 1/31??

There was a thread going on here about it...very long, very sad...about how one of the bandmembers in the band at Biergarten collapsed and died onstage on 1/31....some folks posted who were there, as well as the news article about it. My heart just sank when I heard the news, as we are huge fans of both the restaraunt and the band, it was our favorite. I feel so sad....I was just wondering what is going on there since this took place.

This might sound crass but the OP did ask if the band was still playing. The show must go on. I'd say at least 95% of the people at Disney World, if not more, have no idea of the unfortunate passing of the band member. Disney has backups for all entertainers. Even Off Kilter has substitutes and I've seen that band of five with two substitutes over a major three day holiday weekend.

And I'm sure that tuba player went on vacation at least once during his 24 years at Disney World. The stage didn't go dark during that time.
