We are going first week in August and getting very nervous about rain. Please tell me it won't rain our entire trip. We are flying our kids and grandkids down from Wisconsin who have never been. I want this to be so wonderful and this was the only time that worked for everyone.

Have been twice to WDW in August. One trip was 4 nights long and the other was 8 nights and we had rain 2 out of the 12 days, so not bad and the rain didn't last long. It is very common to have afternoon thundershowers in Fl. Just enough to make it even more humid:) Plus when it does rain, the crowds thin out. You will have a fantastic time!! I would suggest hitting the parks very early, leaving in the heat of the day for a swim and a rest and then back to the parks in the evening.

Been going in Aug all my life. If it rains it's a fast hard rain maybe 5 min's. It feels good after it cools thing off. Have a great trip.

We are going Aug 30, but when we were kids we always went in the beginning of Aug and I always remember it downpouring or Tstorming pretty much everyday but only for a little while. With everything I have read so far it seems nothing's changed, just make sure you bring ponchos! That's very important!

It rains only usually for a short period of time. Bring ponchos. It comes down hard and fast and a lot of time with thunder and lightening. It is usually gone within a half hour. Just duck somewhere good. We will be there in August for the 6th time

ok...for you August experts. How are the crowds the last week in August?
We will be there 8/23 - 8/29. Wondering what to expect as far as wait times?
Been there in Sept. after labor day and it's been no waits at all. Hoping alot of kids will be back in school and the crowds will be mellow. crossing fingers !!!

oooh I want to know that too, we're going 8/22 to 29. Me and my mom's first time at disney

we always go the last week of august. the crowds are very manageable. but do expect to wait in lines. i would say the average wait time is aroung 20 minutes. but its often less. you can maximize your park time by not using EMH, but not visiting those parks during the day as they will most likely be the busiest parks.
but the restaurants will be very busy during that last week because of free dining.

as far as rain, expect an afternoon rain shower everyday, if it doesnt happen itll be a bonus. its not however a comfortable rain, it will be more humid right after the rain so sometimes getting a bit wet isnt the worst thing in the world.

we will be there 24-29! :thumbsup2

Crowds are not bad at all. 10 to 20 min wait. Kids go back to school around the 14th of Aug.

As you can see with my countdown ticker I go in August too:) It was as hot as it was at home when we went the last time, but everywhere we went at Disney it was air conditioned, not here in the Finger Lakes tho...I can tolerate the heat and the quick thunderstorms...I have been doing lots of praying that the storms and rain won't last too long...

I've seen reports of wait times for the latter part of August, anyone have info for the first part of August?

Was there the first week of Aug last year and it was busy. Nobody is back in school yet and I think for me the humidity made it feel more crowded than it was. There were always at least a 30 min wait for rides. Fast passes...well went fast!!! The restaurants were full and some of them were not even taking walk ups.(Thank goodness I secretly made ADR's)DH likes to wing things...I do not:lmao: He was happy when he was able to eat and take a break from the heat when otherwise I do not think that we would have been able to. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the crowds will be a little thinner this year when we return the last wek of August.:thumbsup2
