Anyone attend Moonlight Magic 10/24?

I would also be interested in reading a review. Especially interested if it seemed like they increased capacity, since it sounded like no one that got in the queue was denied.

Wasn't there but you can still catch some people’s stories from last night if you’re quick.

I just watched stories from “wheremagicbegins” on insta and it looked like fun! Chill, dance parties, low waits, breathing room, good snacks.

Sadly it’s not up anymore. Did anyone discuss the carnival games in Dinoland and/or if Boneyard is open? I’d also like to know what the food options are.

We enjoyed it - AK is our least favorite park but we signed up anyways. It felt like a huge improvement vs the last moonlight magic we attended (HS in 2023) in terms of how well food options were marked and laid out. Crowds felt low and manageable.
Do you happen to still have the map or anything that would be helpful for those of us planning on MM in November?

Also curious if you saw the prizes for the games in Dinoland.

We didn’t venture into Dinoland and the map might still be lying around in our room unless I recycled it. I’ll look later - enjoying a cabana today which is unrelated to this thread but I can’t believe we have never done a cabana day at SAB. I highly recommend the SAB cabanas.

Are any of the shows available during Moonlight Magic? Like Festival of the Lion King or Finding Nemo?

It’s very handy to see times. This video mentioned getting some snacks early is a good idea… like the popular Chicken Dumplings at Mr Kamal’s might have a shorter line before the event actually starts.

No Jalapeño Pretzels? That’s OK. I guess we’ll live 😂

I’ve seen mention that the Dinoland carnival games can get a bit crazy later in the night so we’ll try to hit that earlier too.

Thank you for sharing! I hope someone will report back with more info on what the Dinoland carnival games prizes are. Normally I wouldn’t spend park time or precious MM time doing carnival games but I have always loved Dinoland and since this is our farewell tour, I want to pick up some merch.

I didn’t find anything else for this week’s event, but I did come across this video from an earlier MM event this year with a lot more information.

@CWTC do you have any tips on meet and greets? The lines looked pretty horrifying in the video I’m watching.

I don’t - meet and greets aren’t our thing. That said the lines I remember seeing for them seemed long-ish like 20 people but not crazy long. It seemed way less crowded versus the last MM event we did (HS, 2023).

We arrived at AK around 430pm (pretty much no line to check in), wandered through the shops, and went to Tiffins for dinner (had 5pm reservations). The pork duo is new to the menu and husband thought it was one of the best bites from the trip (for comparison our dinners have been flying fish, wine bar George, enchanted rose, capa, crew cup, monsieur Paul, and Il Mulino). But I digress. We got in line for the safari at 558 pm (had booked a LL for the end of the day). After that we walked around - food lines weren’t long at all although people were lining up just before 7pm for free ice cream.

We used our snack certificates on bottled water, a yeti sundae (I had to have because it was blue), and a pineapple crisp sundae. Like rides were pretty much walk on.

We didn’t stay the whole time though so line patterns may have changed.

So you could use snack credits before the party starts? That’s what it sounds like with the times at 4 - 9:30.

Any snack credits we used would have been post 6pm - so after the official park closure but I’m pretty sure we used some before the 7pm start time.

We had a large party (17). We have 4 membership that qualified so we had extra tickets we couldn’t give away. 5 of our group went in around 3:30 pm and made the last Festival of the Lion King Show @ 4:00 pm. We were waiting for one person who was driving in and went in just before 4:00 pm. We went to the Safari and the wait was about 10 minutes. Then went on the Exploration Trail. We headed over to Expedition Everest but stopped for Fried Chicken Dumplings (pot stickers) and seasoned fries. Then we went over to Dinosaur and waited under 15 minutes. We stopped at Flame Tree had Mac n Cheese, Beans and Rice. We picked up popcorn, Cinnamon-glazed Almonds and Pecans. Free Mickey Bars, Mickey Ice cream bars and Strawberry fruit Outshine bars were available. Most had 2! Then we went back to Everest to ride in the dark. We went to Avatar Flight of Passage and the wait was less than 20 minutes. We finished with Navi. On the way out, everyone received a bag and a handful of candy for Halloween. We did listen to the DJ while enjoying our frozen treats.
It never felt very crowded and we all enjoyed our evening.

In the past the carnival games during MM were small stuffed animals for all participants. I don't recall winners getting anything additional. Popcorn concession is within with games where you can use your snack tickets.
