A friend is going on DCL tomorrow and arrived today in Vancouver from the US. She got the random covid testing email. She said the places listed are miles away from where they are staying, and she doesn't have a car. Any advice or experience? Thanks

In our FB group for 08/01, it was mostly kids who got randomly selected. They were able to find a couple pharmacies that were in walking distance from Canada Place. If that’s helpful, I can scroll back through the posts to try and find the information.

My friend is trying to find something close to her hotel. They sent her a list of the places, so she can look. She just didn't want to have to hassle with this or get a rideshare/Uber to go do it. Even the virtual option requires you to pick up a test from one of their providers, which are also not within walking distance of her hotel. This is a bit ridiculous for cruise passengers in my opinion. I don't even think she's going to be in Canada for a full 24 hours. They should be worried about when they get off the ship. Good chance of catching it then. Thanks. She will figure out something. I told her to ignore it, but she was worried they wouldn't let her leave the country when she debarks. I think they would want her out as fast as possible.

I am in Vancouver now and we were not selected to take a Covid test upon arrival. We filled out the ArriveCan app and no one asked to see it upon arrival. I am guessing that the information was sent to them in advance and they didn’t need anything additional from us. 🤷🏻‍♀️

On our recent RV trip (with a group) into Canada, one of the ladies was selected for the test. She just had to do the test and drop off the sample at designated location (I think it was a post office) for pick up. Then they contacted her a few days later with the results.

My husband and daughter both were coming back from our Northern European cruise. Since we were back home and had our car we just went to the place near to the airport.

What are you supposed to do if they select you for this test upon arrival to Vancouver on a one way cruise, and you are flying back to the US the same day? Are you supposed to risk missing your flight to go get Covid tested?
