I'm now cruising skyauction just trying to understand their deals. You can bid on just a room, but there are other deals that include air.

Example, Radisson Resort Parkway is there with a bid of 28.00 for a 7 night stay with air on American included.

It also has taxes and fees of 195.00(which is a room tax, and the way I read it, is 195.00 for 2 people)

Plus a double occupancy rule, so you have to buy two or pay a higher fee.

Also, we'd have to pay extra per bid to fly from a different airport at 50.00 per bid.

So, if my math is right, hypothetically if I won a 28.00 bid, it would cost me $351 for a 7 nights stay with airfare for 2??(195 +50+50+28+28)

If kids stay free at the Radisson, and I have 2 kids do I make 4 bids for all of us, or 2 bids and get their airfare seperate?

I'd still be cheaper with 4 winning bids, I believe

Last, if you win this bid, can you stay longer than the 7 days, or do you have to fly within that 7 day timeframe as well? I would like to stay an extra 3-5 nights somewhere else.

I'm a little corn-fused (iowa humor)

Thanks!!!

I re-read the skyauction deal, and I think the 195.00 fee is per bid. It doesn't state it's for just the room, it states it's for taxes and fees, price based on double occupancy.

So, if my new math is right, it would be 546.00 for 2.

Is this right?

Yep, you're right. If the property is a kids stay free type place (and most are) skyauction can arrange the airfare for the 2 kids - but check with them for age restrictions.

I bid on and won a trip to Playa Del Carmen 2 years ago, air inclusive, and was very happy. Then I did a 2 people trip to the Bahamas and added my son via airfare. They took care of it. However, it was a charter flight and we hated the trip. Trick is to know that property you want and to know the rules.
Good luck!

With Skyauction, if you do hotel only, you bid per night or per week. If you bid per week, there is a $195.00 extra charge. If you bid per night, you pay an extra $32.00/night over your bid rate.

With air, you bid per person and the extra charges are per person (they cover airport taxes etc). To ensure your kids get on the same flight, you would need to bid for 4 people. Then, add on any surcharges you may incur from a different departure city (can be seen from the drop down menu). You won't have much choice (if any) of time of departure so essentially you could lose two days of vacation (eg: you depart at 4pm going down and return home at 8 am).

I think skyauction is GREAT for hotel only but would be a little leary of bidding on something with air if I was taking my kids along (unless they're teenagers).
