Anybody who made AP resies this morning trying to switch to CTN this afternoon?

Couldn't get AP rate for my stay at BWI this morning but was able to get the room only code this afternoon. By all means call and try but they were having "computer trouble", took 2 CMs and an hour!

I just made our ressies for Oct with AAA discount.

what is the CNT code and when is it good for

Im on a budget saving mission now:D

thanks

You need to check out the info on mousesavers.com, it is a wonderful website for WDW discounts. All will be explained there.

The current code is only good for stays 2/12-4/17. Codes for your time probably won't come out until August.

I'm waiting to use the code on my already-existing reservation (Poly GV), but was told an hour ago the computers were down...called back just now and still told to call back in an hour to an hour and a half--Oh well, I'll call later and hope to get the Code!

Was able to switch my AP resie to CTN resie and saved another $100 as now I don't have to upgrade my hopper.

Saving $306 off my oringinal rack room resie!!!

Keep trying !!!

Just so I have this straight--the CTN is not a larger discount, right? The only reason(s) to change would be if you didn't already have an AP, and didn't want to buy one (for $ or other reasons) OR if there were no more rooms available under the AP code, you might try the CTN code--right?
So, since I already have a current AP and already made an AP code reservation, there would be no reason to change to the CTN--right?

Just tried to switch from AP to CTN in order to get two Standard Rooms with 4 beds rather than 2 King Rooms with 2 beds. I was told that all that was available at POR under both were King Rooms. I guess I will keep trying.

Hawk.

Here are the details of our situation.

We had an original room-only resie for 3 adults (DD is 20) and 1 child for 5 nights

Total $1025.00

I bought our 5 day PHPs months ago at $236 each.

The AP room rate I got this morning for the same people/nights was $663. A savings of $362.

However I would have had to spend $158 (apx) to upgrade my PHP to an AP giving me a net savings of $204. Pretty good.

But....

With the CTN code my room rate total was $719. Giving me a savings of $306 off my original resie and a savings of $102 over my net savings from the AP rate.

If you already have an AP the AP rate is obviously best, but for me the CTN code is better.

just got off the phone with a wonderful CM and changed our res. Saved $500 on the cost of the Contemporary Tower during our trip in march/april using the new code. Thanks to all of you and mousesavers!

Tried again and they're still down :( I guess I'll just keep trying...the CM said she didn't know when the comps. would come back up...

Just changed my reservation from AP to CTN after waiting 55 min. for Magic Gatherings. I had to do it through them since we are signed up for it. Otherwise the wait wasn't long for CRO. Price is identical, just don't have to buy the AP. We had 3 rooms booked so we saved over $560.00. Yippee

rngclick, congrats! I've been spying your name on lots of threads today too!:D

chamonix,
you're right, the discounts are better with AP but in my case we don't plan to return again for 2 years (:( ) so a room only code is just about as good as an AP since we won't have to spring the extra $ for an AP. We figure our discount is apx. 34% off rack rate, peak season, standard room BWI.
Looked like equivilent AP rate would be 38% off.

I'm glad Disers are getting what they need. Gotta love these boards!

vicb.....Congrats on getting the BWI with the code!! I have been watching all the discounts posted on the resorts board and was sooooo disappointed when you did not get your AP rate at BWI. We are staying there in May and very much hoping for similar discounts then!! I am so happy for you and everyone else!!

Thanks minster22 ! We stayed at BWI last trip and really loved it. I was offered BC/YC standard $274 this morning but my kids really want to be at the BWI, they have wonderful memories from being there 2 years ago. We have also stayed at the Poly before and liked it very much but there is something about the BW atmosphere that draws us. I think having room only codes during peak season bodes well for other time periods like yours, I'm guessing bookings must be down for spring? These go through mid April so hopefully you'll be next!

It's been a long day on these boards so off to bed!

I was away all day today and didn't find out about the new room-only discount until tonight (I guess last night, now ;) ).

I already had our Pop Century, March Break reservation, booked under the CAA (AAA) discount and was thinking all day whether I should go for the Annual Pass discount that I already knew about. The big question was whether we would be back again within a year to make an AP purchase worthwhile. Now I don't have to think about it anymore ~ I was able to switch to the room-only discount with no problem at all. The CM I spoke to was very friendly and told me I was going to love Pop Century, as she had just stayed there!

Was just not comfortable with the CM I had yesterday, so I called this morning to reconfirm. Well, you quessed it, she only changed 2 of the 3 reservations. Had one on AP rate yet. And never mentioned a different price. Now the rooms are $128 per night with tax, still good, just should have been told.

I found out about the room only code last night while at work...CRO had already closed. I had made an AP reservation for 2 rooms at Pop Century yesterday. I called to find out availability with the CTN code and here is what I was told at 8:15 EST this morning (1/3): For Travel Dates 2/19-2/26
Wilderness Lodge Deluxe rooms....not available (need the deluxe room there for the family of 5)
BWI..not available with CTN code for my dates
YC...concierge only (didn't even bother to ask price)
BC...sold out
Contemporary Tower...sold out
Polynesian Standard view $296 a night including tax

So much for options for a family of 5.

I'm sticking with the AP rate I got on 2 rooms at Pop Century. My total there for 7 nights and 2 connecting rooms is $1155. I'm disappointed about the availability of the CTN code. Seems like a tease to me.
