Anybody use a grocery shopping list for their stay in a 1 bedroom?

Does anyone have a shopping list they use for their DVC trip? I am getting overwhelmed trying to put mine together. I will only have the chance to use a family members car for one evening so I don't want to forget anything!
We usually eat breakfast and most dinners in the room. For lunches, I will usually pack something and take it with us to the parks.
thanks!

No. We just hit the grocery store right before or after check-in. We typically make most our dinners and breakfasts too. We get enough eggs, bacon, cheese & muffins for the week for breakfast. Then we just select an entree for each day. It's just DW & I now so most often Dinner tonight is also lunch tomorrow. Otherwise we get enough bread, sandwich meats, fruit, and frozen veggies for the week. Also, a small variety of munchies. And some water and bottles of soda. We like to get the Maxwell house coffee packets and put 2 per 10 ounces in the coffee maker. Don't forget condiments.

I think you just have to play it by ear. I wouldn't do much more than making a general check-off list of essentials. If you make a fully detailed list you know the store you go to isn't goint to have some things and everything is going to be completely out of order as it is found in the store. We have been doing this for a while now so we have it pretty much settled in our minds what we will need.

Don't know where you are staying, but I believe all DVC resorts have some type of little grocery convenience store. Limited selection and more expensive, but usually have those essential things at least.

Good luck and have a great vacation

Twice we were at VWL with our DGC and extended family and both times we overbought. We were much better the second year, so I only have this recommendation. You may need less than you think you will. Especially the first year, I felt awful about throwing away packages of hot dogs, yogurt drinks for kids, cheese, and so much more.

I always bring a list. It makes it much quicker to zip in and out of the store. We like drinks, bread, lunchmeat, frozen chicken nuggets and fries for the kids, as well as frozen veggies. Or you could do something like the grocery shopping services, like gardengrocer. I am planning on giving them a try next trip, as it'll save me almost half a day.

When there are leftovers, like unopened yogurts and such, I show it to housekeeping. The housekeeping manager has to come and take inventory of it, then they take it for themselves. They always appreciate the free snacks. So you don't have to feel like you're throwing extra stuff out, and honestly, I think you are still saving money by making your own food. I may spend a couple hundred dollars (well, that is including some nice wines) for the week, but I'd spend close to that at home anyway!

I say, start a list early, then add to it when you think of something. Also, laundry detergent, stuff like that.

Yep, pretty easy to overbuy groceries. We plan which meals and what we want to eat ahead of time and just shop from that list like we do at home. The difference is we try to estimate more closely how much we need of each thing, because we don't want to throw too much out at the end of the trip. This usually works well unless we have a large group with us, and then THEY always overbuy!:)

We use gardengrocer.com when staying in WDW. We take the ME and therefore don't need a car. Garden Grocer has everything you need in a market. And they were very professional when delivering our groceries. Took everything out of the bags one by one and checked it against my order.
