anybody think Bush is the anti-christ and Armageddon is around the corner?

I have to be honest here. I absolutely, unequivocally do NOT think that President Bush is the anti-christ. I agree that the anti-christ that is prophesied will have exceptionally high popularity, so that part of your point I do agree with. However, to me it seems clear that President Bush does not embody the other characteristics of anti-christ. For example, President Bush professes to be a Christian, and I don't believe that the anti-christ ever will profess that. Secondly, in my spirit of being honest, I find this comment to be offensive. Though I can certainly understand not liking President Bush, to compare him to what will be the most evil person in all of history, a person who will eventually be indwelt by Satan himself, is just plain offensive to me. I may not care for Senator Kerry's politics (my views are more in line with Republican views than with Democratic views), but I would not make this comment about him unless I saw prophesies fulfilled (which, to be clear, I have definitely NOT). Armageddon itself, I believe, will not take place until after the 7 years of the Tribulation, so I don't believe it is around the corner.

Also, I believe that the anti-christ will become popular/powerful, so to speak, following the Rapture. Of course, that it just my personal belief based on Scripture. If you are worried about Armageddon and the end of time, then may I suggest the Left Behind series of books by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. It is a Christian fiction series, but the authors based it on Scriptural prophecies. I have found it to be a very valuable resource for understanding the events leading up to Armageddon.

my premise is that we are within the 7 years of the Tribulation. The foundations are being established during this 4-year reign, and upon re-election W will complete the evildoing scheme.

i know my thread is a bunch of paranoid hooey, but someone mentioned that there was all this talk during Reagan, and i remember the same talk under Bush I as well. Right now all this freaky stuff is happening, but nobody is talking about the possibility of rapture and the tribulation anymore, which lead me to think that a fabulous ruse is being executed. if nobody is talking about it, nobody is seeing it coming.

republicans say they believe that government should get out of your life. then they try to tell you what you can listen to on the radio, who you can marry and that you can't end a pregnancy even if it's the result of rape or incest (apologies for strong language, just trying to make a point). W guaranteed an audience that gay couples will never be recongnized as legimate as long as he is president. is that compassionate conservatism?

a democrat may tell you not to invoke religion in a government-funded facility, and they're far from perfect, but their form of "rule" seems to infringe far less on my personal freedoms. (and i'm not gay, in case you were wondering)

I can't believe so many people actually believe in a literal anti-Christ and even a rapture!!!!!!!!! Blows my mind.

So my opinion is no, I dont, only because I dont believe in a literal anti-Christ. Not Biblical, and DEF not a rapture... but thats certainly another issue for another day... =)

Dont like the guy, wont vote for him, but dont think he's the antiChrist =)

I was unaware that posters had the ability to move threads.

While I agree this thread is more than a little silly, I fail to understand why people get all bent out of shape about it. You see that in here fairly often. It seems completely illogical to me that posters take the time to follow a thread they don't want to have on the boards. If you don't like what it is saying, why not just skip it?

As to what peachgirl said about posting rules, she is absolutely correct.

Effective immediately attempts to get around the word filter by using an asterisk or other letter or symbol in place of the real letters will be an offence that is subject to immediate banning.

There is a fairly long thread about this on the debate board, the upshot of which is that if you get caught breaking this rule you are gone...no warning...no second chance...you are banned.

When we start seeing threads like this does it mean that the American public is disillusioned with the way that things are going? Is this a reflection of what is going on with the rest of society? Perhaps it's those thoughts that the people who disagree with this post really need to be focused on.

One way to look at things, instead of trying to squelch freedom of speech.

Since it has been so well defined over the centuries one doesnt' have to beleive in its existence to be able to debate whether person A or B meets the defined criteria. Its also possible to interpret events in multiple ways so that they fit certain positions and beliefs. Look at how many people believe in Nostradamus.

I was certainly trying to post an alternate diametrically opposed opinion to the basis brought forth by the original poster.

Man, I really hate this rant. Please sight me examples of his "obsession". The only aboration legislation he has even dealt with was the end to the abomination called "Partial Birth Abortion". This was supported by the vast majority of BOTH parties. Hardly an obsession.

If you outlaw third-trimester abortion, then you're only a step away from banning second-trimester abortion, then you're only a step away from banning abortion as a whole, then you're only a step away from banning birth control, and so on and so on.

Furthermore, every pregnancy is very unique. The only person completely familiar with its circumstances is the woman who is pregnant. That's why she and she alone, in consultation with her doctors, her loved ones, and anyone else she cares to consult, should have absolute sovereign control over what happens to her body.

GWB will NEVER get my vote for many reasons, but his stance on abortion is front and center. If he wants to limit my right as a woman to choose what I can or cannot do with my body, then yes, I'd call that an obsession.
