Man, I really hate this rant. Please sight me examples of his "obsession". The only aboration legislation he has even dealt with was the end to the abomination called "Partial Birth Abortion". This was supported by the vast majority of BOTH parties. Hardly an obsession.

We're talking about a man who the world will believe is their saviour, which I would think, according to the little I know about old testament prophesy about the messiah, wouldn't make him American.

I was really hoping this thread would die a trolls death or get moved to the debate boards before I had a chance to post.

Lets look at the question: Is GWB the anti-christ?

The anti-christ: A false savior that will destroy the world through evil. Anti or the opposite of christian. The world is entering into a new phase in its existence with the rise and spread of the muslim faith. Rather than the old Capitalism vs Communism arguement that went on over the past 50 years (and continues in this country in the form of liberal vs conservative differences), this new conflict will not be solved so easily. Muslim denotes a faith and faith cannot be negotiated or accomidated. It is or it isnt. There will be no detente or cold war. Both sides believe that they are right and for the muslims, their holy duty to enslave the rest of the world and install a sharia type set of law. The west will not trade is capitalistic past for these new restrictions. Also different from the current east-west conflict is the problem that religion is a bottom up ideology versus the top-down imposed theology of communism.

The anti-christ, if that tenent of christian faith becomes a reality will come from the middle east and be a muslim. He will either be seen as the one who can unite all the branches of islam and clense the world of of the heathen west or he will be seen by the west as the one who can bring peace between christianity and islam. His real agenda will be global clensing.

Those who deny that we are on the cusp of a global conflarguratoin are either ignorant of the past or chosing to look the other way. Just look how far and fast and violently democracy spread in the "civilized" world after the founding of the US (anyone remember the bastile? cinco de mayo?).

Associating GWB with the anti-christ is plain silly and shows just how ideologically bankrupt the socialist left has become. The goal of the democratic party is to install soviet style communism in the US. (the hillory health care plan being a prime example). Why? Power and greed. They want the same dacha-style life and power as the soviet politoboro. DO they really care about anyone but themselves? No they just want to use welfare and the tax code to create economic serfs. Self empowerment hurts them. When people succeede, they realize how much folley exists in liberal ideology.

Agree or disagree with how the war has been run but can you honestly say the world was a better place when Saddam Hussein was in power? I disagree with alot of GW's plans but the worst republican is better than any democrat any day of the week.

Ok-ok...Let me first say that maybe this really does belong on the debate boards, but I am glad it is here somewhere!
I perhaps wouldn't go so far as to say that Bush is the anti-christ, but I have to agree that watching the administration slowly chip away at our personal (and Constitutionaly guaranteed) rights is beyond frightening.
Here's what I have decided to do to remedy this. I am attempting to get all of my friends to join me in the 2004 No CARB diet.

No R-umsfeld
No B-ush

Wow, and you called ME ignorant...now I am scared, really really scared. Of course the world is a better place with SH out of power, but lets just look at how many people have had to die in order to accomplish this (Iraqis and soldiers/civilian contractors, etc.). We call it a war on terrorism (a quazi-unilateral one at that), yet we went after a country which hadn't provoked or used terroristic means against us since the last time we invaded. I mean no disrespect to those people serving our country, they are following the orders of an unifored and misguided administration.
I was under the impression that those older than me have developed some form of wisdom, a way to look at the world in an objective light rather than relying on the dated conservative symantics of the Reagan era-serving only to scare and intimidate people into voting for Republicans. I WAS scared that it would be my generation to re-elect Dubya, but now I am not so sure...

According to your logic then, all democrats should be in subservient jobs making no money and just lay back and wait for a handout.

Medicare....GWB just fixed that...ask almost any senior how happy he/she is right now and how easy it is to understand....and after you do that...we'll talk about the projected costs that were stated before it was passed...and the more REAL costs after this was passed...

Welfare...i forget...who was President when welfare was reformed? I was thinking Clinton...that can't be right..he's a democrat...

ERISA ...which guarantees defined pension benefits...signed into law when...Gerald Ford was President? A Republican? in 1974?
Ford must have made a mistake...guaranteeing pensions to somebody that had worked all their life...

I think that the only people screaming at one another are those in disagreement over the placement of the thread...it prob. should be on the debate board.
I think that people who are passionate about what they believe will defend themselves, and as far as I am concerned it has been fairly tame and for the most part respectful. A lot of sarcasm, which is always a good way to cut the tensions that often come with debates like this. I think the title of the thread should have been a warning to you about what was to come...

in my defense, i had no idea there was a debate board when i started this thing. i just thought it might be fun to get some people riled up! i now understand that is a troll-like mentality, but it has its good points!

as far as the major hack against democrats, i don't believe anybody should get anything they don't deserve. but i do believe that anyone (except minors, of course) should be able to do pretty much anything they want, as long as they're not hurting any other living things (at what point a fetus becomes a "living thing" is another debate, but i know W isn't giving any tax breaks for children that aren't outside of a womb).

i'm happy to say i've learned some things from this debate. but i still think if an anti-christ is destined to exist, he/she will have a deceptively broad appeal (maybe it ain't W), and will be from a western culture.
