Anybody on a list with Disney for an add-on at VWL?

Hello.

Anybody on a waitlist with Disney for an add-on at the VWL?

I just wondered how long a list it is. We have an August use year and decided we could use a few more points at the lodge (those one bedrooms are spoilers).

We thought about a few points at Boardwalk (we already have some at BCV), but I want to be able to get a one bedroom every fall at VWL so hubby and I both feel we would be better off with a few more at the VWL.

As of a few weeks ago my guide said there are still a few points avail for certain UY and short waits after that. I don't know where they are at now though.

Also, they have changed the waitlist policy, you have to give a credit card so they can charge the deposit as soon as the points are available. Obviously, it is cancellable but that must have had to many members taking to long to decide. JMHO

I was back on the VWL waitlist for a December use year last August. I finally took ourselves off and just added on to our hoem at BCV couldn't I have no patience! LOL The waitlist was pretty long for December use year. After chatting with soem from the boards and with my guide I estimated about a year and a half wait. Liek InstImpres mentioned they now require a credit card so that shoud help you get in sooner! Have you asked your guide yeat what they thought? Godo luck, you know I love that place!

Just got 100 points throught the DVC resale.

There are 50 points and 60 points available. and a lot cheaper than from Disney.
I worked with Pat Spell and she was very helpful. I can't wait for our first visit!

We're currently on the waitlist for an add-on at WLV. As InstImpres stated, a scattering of points are available in a few diff UYs (just not ours!). We were told that we should hear something in a couple of months. I think that they may be exercising ROFR more often to help clear out the waitlists.

I don't know if you're interested but the the Timeshare Store has a 50 and a 60 point contract for VWL August use year.

Just a word of reminder....there are closing costs through resale stores. You could easily add $5-10 a point on a small contract.

Not saying it's not a good deal, just making sure you consider all the costs.

We went on the VWL addon waitlist in August for September use year and our 140 points became available in December. ( a great Christmas present! ) Since we weren't in a great hurry anyway, it worked out fine. You can generally close on resales in a month or so if time is of the essence.

Thanks for all the responses on this. We want 30 points or less, so going through Disney makes more sense with the closing costs included. Plus, a lot of resales have stripped points. You could end up paying more for resale if the points are stripped than what you would buying direct from Disney.

We added another 100 points for a new total of 400 points. We are DONE adding on (for now!).

Congrats! I got an email Fri. from the Timeshare store saying that Disney waived their ROFR for my 100 points at VWL use year February. Boy I hope there wasn't a mistake
I'm hoping it's a huge coincidence!

It probably wasn't your contract, since the total number of points was larger. Congratulations and Welcome Home!

I'm not sure of the exact number of points that became available, but I know that it's being split into two or more contracts (we were #2 on the list).
