I have 3 kids, and rarely do you ever see me in a picture with my kids. Now when they were newborns, yes there are a handful of pics with me and the new babies. I hate the way I look, and refuse to be in pictures with my kids. I also do not take family portraits, as I refuse to pay money for somebody to photograph me. We get the kids pictures done.
The other day, my youngest was being really cute. I told my husband to grab the digital camera and get her picture. I was sitting close to her and said to my husband "Make sure Im not in the picture"...He told me to get over it..
Oh please.
Am I the only one who doesnt like to be in pictures??? If am in one, I have to be positioned a certain way. Like my lower half is bigger then my upper half. Big legs, big butt..get the point(Oh my top half is big as well, just not so noticiable as the bottom)When my son or husband are taking pics I make sure to say "No legs"...
I know it has to do with low self-esteem. I have always been overweight, and always very self conscious.
Am I the only one?

No, you aren't the only one. I HATE having my picture taken and only do it if I'm forced.

This past December we finally had our first professional family picture done for the holidays and DH and I have been together for almost 13 years. There are not many pictures of me in our photo album unless it's from when I was a teenager.

I can't say I love to have my picture taken but it does mean a lot to me to have pictures taken with my DD. When you're gone your kids are going to wish they had pictures of you and them together.

I hate having my photo taken, unless I'm in my normal state:

I was going to make this same point. My grandmother was always one who hated to have her picture taken and most photos have her hand in front of her face or a kid she's dragged in front of her. :teeth: I wish we had more pictures of her now.

So, no, I have my picture taken with my dd any time the camera is out. And looking back at those older pictures--I was beautiful and I sure didn't think so at the time! :teeth:

I only submit to a once-a-year portrait with my kids & DH---that way, at least there's one decent picture of me a year in case something were to happen to me while they were still young. Morbid but I'd hate to leave the kids with nothing but memories if something did happen. :( Otherwise you will always find me behind the camera, never in front of it! :rotfl:

I used to hate it, too, but now I force myself. For one thing I want my kids to have pics of me with them for memory's sake and for another my kids learn from it. I think it's important to love the skin you're in and even if it makes you uncomfortable to be photographed they learn self esteem by what we say and do.

I do it more for them.

One more thing before I have to go - you can always get face shots only, not body shots. At least you'll be on hardcopy. :teeth:

My mom hardly gets in any pictures. She always uses the excuse that she HAS to take the picture (but I also love that everyone else HAS to be in the picture-hello?! Sometimes I don't want my picture taken either!). I try to take pictures of her now but I have to do it when she doesn't have time to get out of it.

I don't want a bunch of pictures of myself when I'm older. I want more pictures of my parents. I can see myself in a mirror anytime I want, I can't see my parents when they're gone.

Well, I'm a weird one because I like my body just fine, it's from the neck up that I look awful. But here's an idea - from now on, I'll insist people only take pictures of me from the neck down!

:3dglasses I hate my picture taken....no matter what I am wearing or how my make-up is I look just awful. I can smile, frown or what ever and it will turn out like I am a monster. :rotfl2:

The only picture I do like is with the DGK's...guess that will have to do.

FINALLY SOME PEOPLE THAT FEEL THE SAME WAY I DO!!!!
I have always been self consience about having my pictures taken ... but I think it probably because it really never was taken.. I tried this year to put a scrapbook of baby pictures together for myself and I only have maybe 25 pictures of me growing up... tons of my siblings just not me.. I was the last baby and my parents divorced when i was less than a year old.. no money I guess.. But I do make myself get in pictures... I have to take a class piucture every year with my kids and it is always just AWFUL!!!!!! then when the kids graduate.. they all want pics too... oh the drama of it all!!!
Any way I guess we all just have to accept ourselves for who we are goofy looking or not!!! :rotfl2:

I do not like to have my picture taken, but do for the reasons mentioned. I would hate for my kids to feel that there aren't any pictures of me.

I know that DisneyPhD is going to post a pic of me that she took when we met at WDW last week. I'm being very good about it even though it's taken a lot not to tell her to skip posting any pics of my and just posts ones of my 6yo. PhD, if you're reading this, I'm being very brave! :rotfl:

In general, though, I try to be the one holding the camera so I don't have to be in the pictures. :teeth:

The blinding glare off my balding head makes me despise getting my picture taken.

I don't mind having my picture taken, I never have even when I was overweight. :)

Hate to see pics of self!
Hate to hear my voice on the answering machine!
And videos of me just FREAK me out!

I HATE having my picture taken. My hand has been photographed more often than any other part of me.lol I have family that bothers me about having a family photo taken for their Christmas present from us. I have yet to oblige. The last family picture we have is when DD was less than a year old, she is now 15. Poor DS has never been in a family photo.
I will say I did relent and willingly had my picture taken with Pooh. I don't let anyone see it, but it was taken. And now that I think of it I was forced into a picture with Minnie at LTT.

Please reconsider and have a family portrait made of your family. It might not be something that you like (and you don't even have to display it if you don't want), but it will be priceless to your children and grandchildren when you are not around any more. :)

I despise having my picture taken. I consider myself one of the most unphotogenic people on the planet.

I hate having my picture taken. If I can get my picture with someone else I"m okay, but alone I always look bad. I can take REALLY good pictures of myself htough. I guess I don't like Other peoples pictures of me.
